To expect a response from Ocado?

Almost a month ago I contacted ocado (who are usually faultless on customer service) because I'd bought 3 items from the 3 for £10 offer and was being charged full price.

I sent a short polite email asking for it to be sorted, it's happened before and last time I got a timely response and it was sorted. This time I got a copy and paste standard response which insinuated that I didn't know what I was doing and was confused !!!!! and that it was a buy 3 for £10 offer not a buy any 3 for £10 offer.

I replied suggesting that they hadn't actually looked at my order, they were being patronising and this was standard copy and paste which I don't appreciate.

Got a reply to say sorry and they'd put a bottle of wine in my order as an apology, fair enough.

That was almost a month ago, I've had three orders delivered since then, fourth coming to day, and I've had no further response and no wine.

I've sent two emails, no reply except a standard bounce back, two tweets were responded with, we'll look into it and get back to you, then silence.

AIBU to not let this go?

Surely I shouldn't have to chase something offered as an apology, seriously thinking about flouncing to sainsburys.

I fell out with them a while back when I was supposed to get a free bottle of champagne with my 6th order. They didn't have the bottle in stock so they didn't send me anything. I won't be shopping with them again.

TeaOneSugar · 14/06/2013 17:08

That's another thing, I've been with them for years, and I've never had an anniversary present, I hear people get a bottle of wine every year but I've never had one.

I had similar at Christmas. Complained about my order - got a trite patronising response. I pointed out wasn't acceptable and didn't actually deal with my complaint. Their solution was to simply up the voucher amount they'd offer me against next shop. Still didn't actually address my complaint and it was sent so quickly there was no way they could bave properly looked into my complaint. Attitude seemed to be to fob off customers with money off voucher rather than actually take time to investigate. Telephoned them and cancelled my account and delivery pass as a result as they were not helpful. Today they charged me £70 for a delivery pass I didn't even order and it will apparently take 5-7 for the money to come back to me!

Used to really rate their service but I think it's gone downhill quite badly. Not tempted back to them yet.

Flounce to Tescos! Whenever I've phoned with problems I've received an email with a refund before I've even hung up the phone Grin

TeaOneSugar · 14/06/2013 17:25

I'm a delivery pass customer, which is £10.99/month, I spent around £70/week on groceries and loads more at Christmas, but they don't seem interested in keeping my business.

ImaHexGirl Sounds like a very similar experience, I used to work in customer services, and know a cut and paste when I see one, it helps CSAs get through emails really quickly but it comes across really badly to customers.

I'm amazed tweets haven't moved things along.

Yep, it was definitely a cut and paste job. Unfortunately I was not in the mood for it and let rip!

SilverOldie · 14/06/2013 18:04

I had a problem with an Ocado delivery, e-mailed them and never got a reply. Changed to Tescos and have never had a problem. Ocado's loss.

TeaOneSugar · 14/06/2013 18:17

I've tweeted again.

TeaOneSugar · 14/06/2013 18:44

Seems I'm getting standard twitter replies as well.

isn't there a MNer who works for ocado and has replied to complaints on here, Ocado Annie? or was that another forum?

phantomnamechanger · 14/06/2013 18:49

BTW, standard replies that do not sort your problem are a PITA, and YANBU

Mia4 · 14/06/2013 19:39

YANBU Make a complaint on their social media pages, tends to do the trick.

TeaOneSugar · 14/06/2013 19:44

This is what I got, patronising much;

"I am sorry to hear that there has been some confusion regarding offers on our website. I understand how this could have been quite frustrating for you"

TeaOneSugar · 14/06/2013 19:45

Mia4 I've been tweeting, they keep saying it's unusual it hasn't been sorted and they'll get in touch, nothing yet.

Is this because they are now in bed with morrisons??

schobe · 14/06/2013 20:11

I've found sainsburys customer services excellent. Also free delivery on Tues/Wed/Thur if over £100 and 1 hour delivery slots.

I was thinking about trying ocado again, but won't bother having read this Grin

TeaOneSugar · 14/06/2013 22:00

Well, I got a phone call a while ago (after a stroppy tweet), I don't entirely believe it was a technical error, but at least someone finally picked up the phone and sorted it out.

Apparently someone else got my wine, which doesn't explain why they didn't reply when I emailed them to chase my wine.

Anyway, I'm finally getting the wine in my next order, and they've emailed me a code for £30 credit, so I'm committed to at least one more order.

Ocado Annie was definitely on here a while ago.

Was the thread about an ocado driver who threw a bag of wee into the ops garden??

TeaOneSugar · 15/06/2013 11:25

My Ocado drivers are always lovely, never had Jesus though :)
