There isn't enough support for children whose parents are in prison,or are sectioned (held under the MH Act).
It is getting better, but i would like for a CAF to be put in place for all children going through this.
Some families cope well, including the children, have no support, what so ever.
My DH was sectioned whilst having cancerous brain tumours (he later died), there was no help available at the time. This happened as MIND was gather evidence that this was a gap that needed filling, in services.
Just after, a support system was started, mainly by charities, soit was and stillis patchy, the same for those in prison.
The budget cuts, once again, have had a big effecton provision.
Many child go into temporary Foster Care whilst a parent is in prison. There is a lot going on for them, that they need help to process.
You can imagine how the children feel when it is an "aborrant" crime that the parent has committed and is then hated in and outside of the family.
