I'm starting to notice (on the telly) this trend for really bright white teeth that look very unnatural.

How long before those of us with 'normal' shaded teeth start to be looked upon as having 'bad' teeth?

Yes the tippex white teeth are veneers - pretty much everyone in Hollywood has them.
Must say though, if somebody offered me the chance to get my natural teeth that white I'd jump at it! I've had my teeth whitened before but the difference has not been remarkable at all . I want really really white teeth

You got that right. The man looks like a damn fool.

Those teeth aren't white. They are very pale blue. This is especially obvious when paired with a tango tan.

I hate how normal bodily pigmentation is being made disgusting by the cosmetic industry.

I think the white/blue veneer thing is really aging. It makes people look like they have dentures, and I associate dentures with the elderly (obviously!). Watching hollyoaks and similar shows is really weird as all these twenty somethings look like they should smell of mothballs and play bowls.

I did see Rylan last week, he's had veneers and they apparently cost about £25,000. He said he didn't have to pay for them though.
Anyway, they look awful, his teeth were fine before and yes I immediately thought Ross from Friends.

Veneers can be done to look natural, though. My teeth were very uneven, so I got a couple of crooked, yellow veneers to make them look more normal.

Same here badtime - they don't have to look so white.

Peaches Geldof got veneers and they look like dentures. She lost a ton of weight too, so the big teeth are looking out of place.

Mega bright TV teeth are veneers, which cost mega bucks! But I think many people don't realise this and end up spending lots of money on teeth whitening treatments, which will actually only get your teeth a few shades brighter and remove stains from coffee etc. I can understand not wanting stained teeth, but the Ross-from-Friends style day glo toothiness is just plain weird IMO! So long as teeth are healthy and hygienic!

It looks ridiculous, and like plastic surgery, it is ultimately ageing! Because if you are old enough to need teeth whitening and plastic surgery you're bloody old (and it only highlights the rest of your ageing face/body) and embarrassed about being old, which makes you even older .

I'm American, AND I had my teeth laser-whitened, AND I use a teeth-whitening pen thing advertised by Kim Kardashian daily so I might be one of the offenders.
