Huffington Post links to the musings of a not so great mind

He is indefensible, but illiterate post don't help the case against him.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 09/06/2013 21:47

Do you mean 'illiterate posts'?

xylem8 · 09/06/2013 21:50

'democratically' FFS please address the issues not auto correct. That is just so childish

FreudiansSlipper · 09/06/2013 21:55

If you like being so pedantic redbindy pull me up on other threads take a note of my name you will always find plenty of mistakes hence my name

it is quite clear the point I am making

NG thankfully has not been the threat many once feared, the other far right leader Nigel Farage is. He is intelligent and hate to say it but charismatic too and is gaining far too much support

beatback · 09/06/2013 22:02

Nigel Farage is not Nick Griffin or a racist or bigot, he is someone who is right of centre politcally that is not a crime is it. When U.K.I.P"S policies are scrutinised people will realize they were written on the back of a fag packet. But please dont compare Griffin with Nigel Farage.

pigletmania · 09/06/2013 22:07

What a nasty piece of work

FreudiansSlipper · 09/06/2013 22:14

Nigel Farage is leader of a party full of bigots, some remarks he has made are questionable, the basis of his getting support is about anti immigration. I can compare the two because they both like to stir up fear in people fear of the brown people, fear of the people from east europe

Dawndonna · 09/06/2013 23:01

Since when did Farage stop being a bigot?

I am sorry but I do think you are being unreasonable, dawndonna.

Sellotape is just not going to do the job - staples or superglue would be better!! Maybe even rivets.

Latara · 09/06/2013 23:13

In a way it's better to hear the views of Nick Griffin et al because i prefer it when bigots out themselves - ie; i'd rather know what kind of horrible views they hold so i know to avoid them!

For example following the Woolwich stabbing of the soldier, several of my work colleagues linked to EDL & BNP pages on Facebook. I'd prefer to not know what political views they hold but at least i've now seen their true colours; one colleague was a man i'd wanted to date before i saw his EDL links - it put me right off him.

Darkesteyes · 09/06/2013 23:31

Last week in a supermarket queue my mum was told "Hurry up you fucking foreigner" by the man behind her. I was waiting outside and didnt hear the exchange. She came out and told me and when he followed not long after i got out my phone and switched to camera mode. He looked a bit menacing as he walked towards us so i thought better of it. My phone is a bit of a faff and i didnt fancy it getting broken.
Got home and opened the local paper and there he was staring out at me a "proud" member of the EDL.

MildredIsMyAlterEgo · 09/06/2013 23:39

YABU to suggest sellotape, it would be far too innefective.

Are we allowed to push him off a cliff aswell?

Latara · 09/06/2013 23:54

I haven't read the Huffington Post link because i don't want to read his views (i know what they are anyway - anti-everyone different, holocaust denial, anti-gay racist etc etc) - I think reading his rantings will just piss me off.

But for those who don't know his views then perhaps seeing them in print will be an education into how unpleasant he is?

The danger of his views being published of course is if people start to think ''he's right, we agree with him.''

xylem8 · 10/06/2013 00:00

He basically calls him a terrorist and a murderer and says how much more stable and prosperous SA was in the days of apartheid

xylem8 · 10/06/2013 00:05

There are still many people who believe that NM is/was a terrorist and murderer

Hmm not sure what the difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist is, apart from one's own perspective.I am sure there are some who would regard the Woolwich murderers as freedom fighters.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 10/06/2013 15:35

Snap, Mildred!! Great minds think alike. Fwiw, I think pushing him off a cliff would be OK, apart from the environmental impact (pollution issues).

Dawndonna · 10/06/2013 16:16

Which, in fact, it wasn't, xylem Nor was it much fun being in the market place when somebody shouted 'duck'. Trust me, it didn't mean they were selling them!
As for terrorist, of course it's open to interpretation, although imo, fighting for basic civil rights in your own country would rather seem like freedom fighting. The ANC have always admitted they were not perfect, but they didn't target individuals, as has been suggested by Griffin, they did try to do things to cause the maximum amount of damage to property/business with no loss to human life.

OP posts:
Pendeen · 10/06/2013 16:24

"The ANC have always admitted they were not perfect"

That's what the IRA said as well!

Dawndonna · 10/06/2013 16:35

As I said, the original essay title is open to interpretation. However, I do believe, as I am sure most people do, that there is a big difference between the ANC and the IRA. The IRA for example were not slaves, were allowed to own property, allowed to get on buses with their fellow countrymen. Allowed to eat in the same restaurants, use the same public facilities. Major difference.
