...to replace pushchair I've had 2 weeks as it's so impractical

So I spent ages researching double pushchairs. Found one I thought was great (mostly because it folded up so small!). Have had it 2 weeks and it's driving me mad as doesn't fit in front door, shop aisles and lo seems to hate it! Thing is I bored my dm and dh with endless discussions and trips to try them and both wete extremely pleased and relieved that I'd got one and could stop tslking about it - I do get quite obsessional about these things! Anyway now I want to sell it and buy a completely different one which I think will suit us much better. They will not be impressed and dh already getting fed up that I'm talking about it again and complaining about the new one already!

So question is aibu to sell a pushchair I've had for 2 weeks (already managed to scratch it trying to get it through the door so not sure I'll get what was paid for it back) and buy a different one or should I just put up withrit and pretend its great (dm bought it for us)?

Thanks for helping, I'm rubbish at making decisions as you can probably tell!

We did tons of research before ds was born and decided to get a double I candy as that suited us so well. Ds had other ideas. Its barely been used. He hated it in pram mode, in rear facing mode and front facing mode. We are not going to get anything like what we paid for my back. So irritating.

After it mainly gathering dust for 6 months I went nuts and bought a cheap side by side. Needless to say, ds loves it.

I'd say change if you can afford the loss especially if it means you end up like me and find ways to actively avoid using the old one.

Though this may be totally unreasonable behaviour I'm joining in on!

I HATE pushchairs! Everyone has a favourite and an opinion, no one in rl will openly admit to hating their pushchair because of how much it cost so you can't get an honest opinion. Who ever invented my pushchair was a moron.

I hated my first pushchair as well. It was expensive, researched to death and very perfect as everything matched etc but I fell out of love with it very fast. My feet kept hitting the wheels, the straps weren't attached to the seat properly and it was a general pain. I stuck it out because I had to we couldn't afford to replace it and would involve changing car seats etc.

You could maybe try taking it back to the shop but they are under no obligation to do anything!

my first pushchair was perfect but when dc2 came along I bought a tandem which was v awkward to manovere. I ended up buying a 2nd hand side by side maclaren double.was less problematic. Sell the pushchair now while its nearly new to get the optimum price for it.

Is a baby jogger city select?

PurplePidjin · 08/06/2013 20:22

Buy a Moby wrap or Close Caboo (or other stretchy sling, Victoria Sling Lady are both awesome and cheap!) and a £20 cheapie buggy for the big one.

Yanbu, i only have one dc but buggies give me The Rage in town/shops. Slings are so much easier when other people are being pushy smoking personal space invading twats involved Wink

ThisWayForCrazy · 08/06/2013 20:34

I loved my baby jogger city select. I can find no fault with it. Please don't say it's one of those!!

I have had pushchairs I hated. In fact I had 2 doubles before my BJCS, by the time the youngest was 4 weeks he'd been in three different ones.

If your not happy with it then change it.

Footface · 08/06/2013 20:36

I went on and on and the baby jogger,I realised it was going to be long, but its wide aswell and doesn't go through doors very well

Chottie · 08/06/2013 20:39

I would change it. I have a friend who had two DC close together and was not sure which model push chairs to get. JL let her have two push chairs on trial for a week to see which one suited her and then they collected the one she did not want. I thought this was excellent service.

ThisWayForCrazy · 08/06/2013 20:39

I've honestly never had a problem with it! I used it daily for 18 months. I put it down two weeks ago and replaced it for the city mini, which I'm not so impressed with, but it's ok.

I know 3 others with it and they love it. So it must be me.

I do love the basket though

aufaniae · 08/06/2013 20:53

Sell it! And quickly. It's not going to get any better. If you're annoyed with it now, imagine how you'll feel when you've had it months Sad

I knew in the first week that DS's last pushchair was rubbish.
I wanted to ebay it while it was still new. DP talked me into keeping "for a while at least" it as his mum bought it for us. But I shouldn't have listened as I'm the one who uses it most as he drives, I don't.

It was very soon too worn to get a decent price and I was stuck with it and kicking myself I didn't sell it when I had the chance.

Gambia · 08/06/2013 20:54

Thanks for the responses, looks like I'm not being completely unreasonable then, and nice to know I'm not the only one to be in this situation! No, its not the baby jogger city select, perhaps I should have gone with that one though as it might have fitted through our front door.

After dragging dh and los around looking at every double pushchair available all afternoon (and realising I mostly pushed an empty pushchair as neither were happy to sit in it!) I think I may just get rid of it and try a combination of a buggyboard, my moby wrap and original pushchair and stop obsessing about perfect pushchairs!

Thanks again
