Why are there so many white men on the news for being pedophiles?

It's kinda constant. If there are police units which primarily deal with 'black on black crimes, Kurdish/Chinese gangs', surely it would make sense to open a unit that primarily looks into the phenomenon of 'white men and kiddie abuse'?

I haven't NC as I don't see why I have to. I am genuinely curious if I am the only one who has noticed that child abuse is committed mostly by white men. I agree obviously that not ALL white men are child abusers, but the figures are staggering.

I used to work in probation hostels where a significant proportion of inmates were paedophiles. They were all white. I don't know if this meant that paedophilia is more prevalent amongst white males or that black and Asian paedophiles lived with family whilst on bail or probation.

we should just concentrate on negating child abuse full stop no matter who commits it. There does seem to be a horrible number of crimes committed because men can access child pornography/abuse all to freely in the internet. I hope Google will be persuaded to do something about their part in this.

Statistically most paedophiles in the world are Chinese, not white. That's because there are more Chinese people in the world than white people. Does that help OP? My understanding is that paedophilia is equal in all races. I agree a lot more needs to be done to stop it, including Google taking action.

it could be down to euroupean christian culture having no understanding that some adults are sexually attracted to children until quite recently, the blame was often placed on children being sexual towards adults

i am not sure this is the case in other cultures but i think it is an interesting question, no one is suggesting that it does not happen in other cultures

but on mn to question white supremacy and the influence of it in our culture you will be accused of racism yes why does no one point out that all those that have been arrested (that we know about) in operation yewtree have been white but if they had all been from ethnic backgrounds it would be an issue about their colour/culture too

The irony was lost, but it is true that white people are more likely to commit pedophilia in Britian, because the population of Britian is mainly white. Just like it will be more prevalent in Asian people when you are in India.

I agree that the stigmatising of other cultures does happen though, for gun crimes, terror crimes or the gang grooming crimes.

Just to point out that statisitcs on crimes against children do no where near give the whole picture, when the crime iscommitted within the family.

The police often only get involved (even in sex abuse cases) if the judge during the CP process pushes for it.

If there are common themes, outside of the sexual attraction to children, then this does need to be studied, that is how we learn how to prevent crimes and protect children.

Churches (and equivalent) are often happy to play their part, the same with physical abuse cases.

It depends on what you call "recently", i put the lack of investigation and action down beliefs systems around class, gender, race etc. Quite deliberatly gangs of peadophiles would have one member in a position of power, whether it was a priest, running a children's home, care of the disabled etc.

I'm sure that I have read an article about as a percentage, I believe in the US, although could have been in the UK, the sexual abuse of children is a disproportionately white crime.

The media will jump onto any story about child abuse (quite rightly so) when there does seem to be so many instances of the victims being let down - the recent story about the asian ring had been going on for years - the police didn't take it seriously when victims complained and the social workers were probably so up to their eyeballs with work also ignored the victims because the victims would choose the run away from care homes to go back to these men - no-one ever looked into why they acted this way because there were perhaps too many other cases to deal with - eventually the victims were just left to fend for themselves as having made a lifestyle choice - but the media jumped onto the story because they could bash the social workers and police because so many mistakes were made and so many victims ignored - the media have equally been jumping up and down in disgust over the white men in recent stories - Ian Huntley and the likes - again because there were so many missed opportunities. I don't think that the media chooses to highlight a particular crime just because of the colour of the man (or woman's) skin - they just want a story to sell their newspapers that will make people respond in some way.
