this is trivial i know. split 6 months ago, tried to stay friends but 2months ago cut all contact. i have no desire to be with ex but i know im not over the relationship. ex is with someone, second relationship since we split up.
anyway work friend tells me exs new girlfriend has asked him about me, what im like etc.. he is a mutual friend.
it knocked me for 6 i am trying my best to move on and as i say im not there yet but having to hear/think about them at work just felt like such a thump to the stomach.
why would she want to know about me?i feel like telling him she has done this/find out why? or is it normal to want to know about new partners ex?
probably complete over reaction just wanredbto vent and get some perspective

I can see why you find this unsettling, but I can also see her point: when your new partner keeps saying 'Oh my ex was AWFUL' to justify his unacceptable behaviour, people often suggest finding out how much of it is true. So basically she probably doesn't mean you any harm.

It also sounds like you are well rid of him.

thank you, good to know im not completely over reacting. ex and i have mutual friends a couple of which im close to so that proves im not a complete nutter, they would vouch for my good character if the need arose im sure.
i am well rid, we both did stupid and selfish things in the end, I've definatly not been an angel in all of it but im a good person.
im not going to say anything to anyone about it, least of all ex o realise going off on 1 would prove him right about me. he's not getting the satisfaction of knowing im still hurt
