To want an alternative to Facebook?!?

I hate fb, personal choice not criticising.

My family are spread far and wide an I want something similar that I can upload pics of dd onto for family to look at whenever they want.

Here is my criteria;

I want to be able to upload easily from my phone, individual pics not the whole bloody lot like on drop box.

I want for it be accessible to invited individuals only.

I do not want to be giving ownership of said photos to the site

Does such a place exist?

Drop box or flickr, the latter allows you to choose each picture as private, viewable to family, viewable to friends or viewable to public.

23 Snaps is designed for exactly what you are talking about. And each child has their own timeline, so you can see them grow. I started using it a couple of weeks ago and MIL loves it. She's on FB but never has time to trawl through all the posts. So now she just opens 23snaps to see what my girls have been up to. I have invited various family members across the world. You can upload pics, vids, comments and things like weight and height if you won't. HTH

SarahNoDuck · 04/06/2013 17:47

Oh and the timelines tell you how old each child is. I discovered it in an advert on on my Facebook timeline.

Sorry, posted too soon.

Not sure if someone has said this, but 23 snaps is really good, and very private!

My Space?

Flickr?

I have Google+ and my new phone sends all my pics to it automatically without me having to download anything which is much better than having to plug the phone in and back it up.

Photos can be shared with people in your circles or kept private.

23 snaps looks just the thing for me, thanksSmile

Hey hey, 23 snaps sound great off to follow your link.

Honey tea: it's about intellectual property, if I upload hundreds of pics of my dd (without her consent as she is 16mo) then they would belong to Facebook, forever. Once loaded I have no control over what is done with them. I'm just not comfortable with that.

There is not one single pic of my dd on Facebook and I intend to keep it that way Smile

23 snaps

SarahNoDuck · 05/06/2013 20:53

Glad you like it!

valiumredhead · 05/06/2013 21:18

Herrena, that's how I feel about fb too.

valiumredhead · 06/06/2013 22:18

Have just been looking at signing up with 23snaps - do you post statuses and info or is it just pics?

Looks good so far.

HerrenaHarridan · 06/06/2013 22:35

You do have to option to post status updates as well although I haven't yet.

I really like the fact that in its left hand menu it has the option to manage your children Grin

Also really pleased that has the option to organise your pictures in a timeline and to have collections of separate pictures

Right, I'm signing up, thanks! Grin

I might be back with more questions...
