AIBU?

to think its perfectly possible to do OD as an interest without it becoming all consuming

I'm fairly newly single and am getting out into the world again - renewing some old friendships, joining some sports/community activities etc and having quite an enjoyable time.

I thought that perhaps I could add OD to my list of things to do. But a friend has warned against this - it will be all consuming, take up head space Confused and seemingly consume every waking hour.

I'm in my 50s, and consider myself to be sensible and not at all needy > and would just like some male company now and again and think OD might provide this. AIBU to hold this view?

No, step away from it, it's depressing and an utter waste of time.

disclaimer: I only did it very briefly.

There's a big long thread on here about it, people have been doing it for years, it doesn't sound as though it would suit you, but we're all different. Have a look if you're curious Shock

I quite like the thought that Online Dating in my 50s would be all consuming and take up every waking hour!

Or will I be obsessing over the fact that no one has responded to my advert? Sad

I would give it a go, personally. You can always jack it in if it's a pain or you only get nutters!
