To have been so upset/worried that I had a panic attack?

Ds2 had a hospital appt this aft. I was going to cancel as all 4 dcs disabled/i don't drive/dh had to work and I thought itd be too difficult getting there and taking them all.

Dm said she would have older 3 as long as I got a taxi and wasn't too long as dd2 is diabetic and dm wont/cant do her jabs (despite being a first aider and has seen me do it loads she doesn't want tolearn and its just me and dh who can do them).

I checked dd blood sugar before I left, explained when to check again and when to give her 10g carb snack to prevent it dropping too much.left hypo stuff out just in case, dm was fine but asked me again just as taxi got there to re check dd.

I was an hour at appt phoned after to see how dcs were-dm HADN'T checked or given snack at the time/s we agreed.I asked her to check dd then and she was 3.1 (hypo) had to have glucose tablets etc.
I was so worried I then couldn't breathe was desperate to get home, it was pouring, no taxis at rank so I ran to bus stop and was crying and a complete mess I was terrified dd wouldn't be ok.

DM offered to have dcs I don't understand why she did this. When I got back dd1 (11) was upset as dm had blamed her-shes a child herself but felt bad dd2 had been unwell with a hypo.

AIBU to be so upset, and I feel stupid for having a panic attack over it Sad

YANBU

what the hell was your mother thinking?! Did she def clearly understand what was needed? Diabetes isn't something to be messed with!

What an awful shock for you

poor you, i have had panic attacks too, so know how you feel.

YANBU - and how very stressful for you. What was your DM thinking? She had strict instructions to follow which didn't involve her doing the injection she wasn't nothing to do with and couldn't even keep to those instructions and put your child's health on the back burner!

Iam very very unhappy about it. Dm has seen blood sugar tests done loads on dd2, has done a few but is reluctant despite saying when dd was diagnosed that she wanted to learn.

She fully understands diabetes and is a first aider and she had offered to have dcs. I think I explained everything fully and I am v confused why this happened. If I hadn't phoned her when appt finished I dread to think what would have happened.
I have a suspicion she is nervous about it all as looking back she was odd asking me to re check before we left.

I felt dreadful I thought I couldn't breathe and was so desperate to get home. Dd was ok but it was just instant panic.

I feel really let down and confused.
