To have a lie down?

DS is 20mo, last night he slept 8-12, 4-7. Stupidly me and DP didn't go to bed till midnight. He's teething badly and couldn't/wouldn't sleep.

I'm on medication that really knocks me out. I'm absolutely exhausted :(

I've given DS breakfast, got him dressed, got his train set out, turned cbeebies on. WIBU to just head upstairs for half an hour. House is pretty babyproof, cleaning stuff up high, playroom door open. He can easily go up and down stairs to come after me...

We're going out to paint pots at 10 and I just need to get rid of this sick/fuzzy headed feeling so we can make it out the door....

YAbu you can't lie down in bed I'm afraid....you could lie on the sofa with the door shut or a child gate on...but not in bed.

beeny · 30/05/2013 07:50

Take up with you and put something on iPad or phone

NotYoMomma · 30/05/2013 07:51

Yabu. He isn't even 2!

Crack on and have an early night.

ll31 · 30/05/2013 07:52

Agree, can you not stay in couch in room or beside playroom. Thinks he's too young to leave alone for so long.

Facebaffle · 30/05/2013 07:53

Yabu. Lay on the sofa.

drinkyourmilk · 30/05/2013 07:53

Don't leave a one and a half year old alone. That's very silly.
Have a lie down on the sofa, or put him in his cot.

Tee2072 · 30/05/2013 07:54

No. You cannot.

Lie on the sofa or bring him upstairs with you.

Or cancel pot painting and have a sofa day all day.

He's too young to be left unsupervised.

ArtemisiaofCaria · 30/05/2013 07:55

Ok, am laid on sofa, he's engrossed in chuggington. Got to get dressed in 40 minutes, off to paint MIL a mug for her birthday.

doze on the sofa

do not leave him unattended

if you are on medication, you don't want to fall too deeply asleep and then not be able to hear him downstairs

if you have half an ear on the TV, it will keep you from falling into a deep sleep

TanteRose · 30/05/2013 07:56

x posts

hope you feel better after a quick nap

Icelollycraving · 30/05/2013 07:57

You can't leave such a young toddler by himself. What if you crash out for much longer? Would you be happy for dh to do this?

ArtemisiaofCaria · 30/05/2013 07:57

Can't cancel, have booked it and arranged to meet his little friends there also as a fun playdate. Sorry, please don't judge me too much- I asked on here rather than just doing it!

Will load up on coffee.

Won't sleep on sofa, he's bouncing on my legs with chuggington for company!

BrewBrewBrew

OK, everyone lay off. OP has said she won't do it Smile

Hope you get an early night.

DragonMamma · 30/05/2013 08:12

Glad you're not doing it OP - bad idea.

Can't you have a sleep when he naps? My DS is 25mo and I still have a snooze when he's having his marathon 2hr naps - I set an alarm and off we go. Means I can get to bedtime if I've had a short night.

beeny · 30/05/2013 08:13

Take care and still think he would be fine in bedroom next to you.x

ArtemisiaofCaria · 30/05/2013 08:27

Dragon- I would normally, but because he's also tired I think he'll fall asleep on the way home today.
