Aibu that JLO should know better

As a treat in this half term I said my dc can watch the Britain Got Talent results. I am bloody disgusted that on comes JLO Ms Lopez in next to nothing on Shiney black leotard cut right up to her lady garden with her big old booty out for all to see. Then she starts getting on her knees and pushing her crotch forward to front camera shot. Ohhh gross and not on.
Surely ITV should bloody realise that kids are watching and that their are very young kids in the show backstage being shown this?
Before I get flamed I did not expect such sexyness in a family show and yep I could of turned it over. Instead I said to my dc that not all singers dress in that way and that she was an old show off....
And then Ms Holden silly cow said " I just want to bite JLO arse. Grow up women...

I'm just bored with the whole thing. Bored with all the female stars thinking they have to wear minimal stuff to get noticed

ALSO that outfit was bloody awful, did her no favours and made her look hefty when clearly she isn't.

YABU, it was 930, it was just a pop singer dancing, we have seen worse. IMO young children would not have thought anything of it (neither did I TBH).

She looked ridiculous though!

YABU for complaining about a show being non family friendly at 9pm. But yanbu for thinking she looks foul. I've just googled it and the outfit and poses along suggest yanbu. Ick.

I FF JLO her thrusting in fast forward was not pleasant viewing Grin. I am not sure if you are unreasonable or not I cant stand JLO so everything she does irritates me, but the dancer that was being flung about had less on than Jlo little pants and bra top

oh while im at it I am thinking alishas is not going to be wearing a dress by saturday just a top it is getting shorter and shorter each night and amanda tits are just going to be out, the dress gap is so wide,

MY dd isn't either I do think girls are able to make up their own mind about clothes and a revealing top or whatever wont influence them , dd is 15

I was gobsmacked when i was watching that.

Dh knows that im very funny about people not being appropriately dressed and im only 25!!

When the show was on dh turned to me and said , "go on, say it, thats not very appropriate is it?"

We both laughed as that so something i was going to say but he beat me to it.

Think im just abit of a prude...

The 'Elvis did it in the 50s' trope is irrelevant here. Elvis wasn't on his knees in skintight clothing which revealed the curvature of his genitals singing desperately about being banged from behind or whatever JLos latest ditty is about.

Elvis, as a man, was fully clothed in comfortable clothing, standing upright, and singing about dancing and love.

The outrage then came from religious types who thought that the beat of rock and roll music would drive impressionable kids towards godless behaviour etc. We've moved on now, culturally.

Nobody thinks JLo etc are shocking and godless. But lots of people think she is yet another boring and cliched representation of all that is sexist and sexualised in the culture we are selling our kids.

I just think its sad really. She's so succesful that its really very disheartening that she still feels the need to dress like that.

The Mirror piece is hilarious 'JLo almost reveals her whole bum' - cheeky sods. They then go on to refer to her 'big, open air bum' which is horrible I suppose but it made me laugh. What an outfit. I mean, why bother pretending its about music at all? Why not just have competitive sex dancing, lap dancing and soft porn shows and call it what it is?

Apparently dickhead Cowell said 'That is class'. Well, that's a view I suppose.

I didn't see it, but from the Mirror pics above I agree, that outfit is awful

However, it was on at 9:30pm so if you let your kids watch stuff after the watershed, you can't really complain when it's inappropriate

BGT is mind numbing shite full of barely talented people lining up to help Cowell keep his square lego-man head and inane face on our screens.

So, OP, YABU for watching such crap tv.

However, I was mid channel-surf and saw it was J-lo and as I used to like her but haven't seen her for a while, decided to watch. Unfortunately for me within seconds I caught a full on shot of her groinage and I don't think I'll ever be able to look at the Christmas turkey again without blushing Sad.
