Even if it IS the Zero one, and try and justify it by saying "well, it IS sugar and caffeine free"

MIL who I like and who adores my DD. All dd drinks is water. DH has promised that she wont give any to DD (MIL has two grandchildren both 18mo) obviously SIL doesnt mind her DS having it which I just do not understand.

My son is 7 and very occasionally has fizzy drinks. I thought I was encouraging him to the lesser of two evils by pushing him towards diet.

Is this wrong? I hadn't realised about the artificial sweetner.

YANBU.

FIL tried to give ds Fanta at about the same age btw - when I said no thanks he protested "but I got it for him specially!" Shock Confused Hmm

I can't imagine why any sane person would encourage a young child to drink coke or fanta?! My dcs do have fizzy drinks occasionally but I think there is a big difference in letting them try stuff once they have discovered it and actively encouraging it!
