Have NC but it's now permanent as I forgot my old password! (been on here a while though)

Basically, through a fog of tiredness (I have a 7 month old DD) when I had a bout of thrush about 3 months ago, I accidently applied Canesten cream that had been prescribed for my Caesarean scar and not the regular thrush cream I had in my drawer. No harm done or so I thought......

I've noticed over the past few weeks/months that I seem to be getting little cuts all over my vulva, not caused by any incident or injury god forbid!. I thought I'd accidently scratched myself while washing or something but I keep feeling sore and then seeing them, some are on the inner lips, some above the clitoris on the skin there sorry!

Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this? Related to wrong cream use or otherwise. I feel like a prize idiot for even having to ask on here, so would dread going to the doctors. Want to gather opinion before I even contemplate doing this!

thrush can lead to little cuts, either on its own or from scratching. It's horrid.

I think it would be worth asking your GP to have a look. I really don't think this would be due to steroid cream, you'd have to use a lot for a long time for it thin the skin (steroid cream much stronger than hydrocortisone is used to treat a variety of vulval conditions. It could be thrush, it could be various other things and the GP should be able to give you some guidance. I know it's embarrassing but they look at these things every day and won't think twice about it.

For long term relief from thrush and bacterial infections, try using balancactiv.

I had thrush on and off for several years and after using this product, have been thrush free for the past 10 months.

When I've had a bad bout of thrush I've had small cuts on vulva.

mumofweeboys · 28/05/2013 14:59

Hi

I get little cuts oe fissures aa they are called. Saw dermatologist at hospital who specialised in vulva problems. Turns out to be eczema which could be caused by washing detergent, soaps ect. If I get an outbreak I treat the cuts with steroid ointment to heal them.

I was misdiagnosed for years as thrush but they finally did swabs and there wasnt a yeast cell in sight.

Also get cuts around period.

LadyMaiBlossom · 28/05/2013 22:06

Have you been to the drs OP?

WafflyVersatile · 28/05/2013 22:12

I've had a hurty 'graze' on my fanjita from time to time. I told the gp when I was there and he had a look which was a bit pointless as I didn't have it at the time. He told me to come back when I had it, but you can't get an appointment for a fortnight and it always goes in a couple of days.

I only made the possible thrush connection a few months back because I had to take two hardcore ABs at the same time and felt thrushy and it appeared again, no discharge ever with it but itchier than past times.

This kind of makes sense because I do get fungal infections elsewhere, (I like my sugar Blush) so I have wondered why I don't get (what I recognise as) thrush more often. Seems from this thread that I do get thrush but it normally clears up itself after 2 or 3 days. Can that be right?

WafflyVersatile · 28/05/2013 22:14

But now I've seen mumof's post I'm at a loss again.

I wouldn't call it a cut. It's just a bit sore and there will be a teeny tiny spot of blood on toilet roll.

LadyMaiBlossom · 29/05/2013 22:23

Any update op? Have you been to gps?

My dd (18 months) has eczema and we was given this cream for her. The eczema is everywhere including between her legs so I have put it there and have never seen small cuts on her. The cream makes the sore patches more red for a bit but thats it.

Now im worried the cream can hurt her Hmm

VulvaVoom · 30/05/2013 15:44

Sorry for delay with update, isn't one really though, not been to docs as a non urgent appt is about 2-3 weeks away. Life's got in the way of me even booking but I will. Have eczema on body, co I could have it there as well I guess but does feel like I have thrush too - seems to waver and then return, seems like it just won't go away for good.

They sound like little splits in the skin,
When I've had thrush, the inner skin gets do bloody thin, it just splits in tiny areas.
I recommend using Femfresh to wash down there, in fact I use it all the time as it smells lush ,

WafflyVersatile · 30/05/2013 21:14

Femfresh is bad fanjita hygeine! It's probably causing the problems!
