to feel disrespected by BiL?

Just wanting some outside opinions on whether or not my husband's brother is being an asshat...
Have you seen the new Coke gimmick where you can personalise cans with people's names and post them on Facebook? A little background on me, my choice of drink is Diet Coke. I drink it all day, and everyone knows this. If you were going to personalise a can of Coke for someone, I would definitely spring to mind. But that is beside the point. My BiL spent his day online doing cans for everyone in the family with messages about how wonderful they are, except to my husband and me. That didn't bother me, I just happened to see them on my facebook feed. Then I see that he did one for my husband's ex girlfriend with the message, '!To my favorite sister in law ever xxx' First of all, they broke up over ten years ago. And they were never married, and she didn't even like him. I however, have been married to his brother over four years and have two kids with him.
AIBU to feel like he did that as an insult to me, and feel disrespected? I feel dumb being annoyed over a virtual coke can, but how should I react to seeing that?

Ignore him. He is being a grade A asshat and obviously doing it just to upset you.

Or you could like the picture which will Confused him.

happyAvocado · 23/05/2013 02:08

what if she was his favourite of your DH girlfriends?

Spectra · 23/05/2013 02:18

That is the weird thing. She doesn't like him, and I doubt she has even had any interaction with the guy in over a decade.

Unfriend him on Facebook and you'll never have to look at any more of his Stupid Facebook Drama. Done.

katiecubs · 23/05/2013 07:04

Definitely like the photo! What a prick - can you think of any reason he may be upset with you?

KneeDeepInDaisies · 23/05/2013 07:09

He's a twat and the ex will think the same.

I would hide him on Facebook rather then defriend him. If anyone mentions it say you hid him from your news feed ages ago because his posts are annoying/dull/ridiculous etc.

Wishiwasanheiress · 23/05/2013 07:11

Actually I wouldn't do it. I'd show dh and unfriend. Frankly this isn't your 'fight' but your dh/bil.

Could bil have fancied u at all? This sounds like 13yr old stuff iykwim? Sort of double bluffing....?

picnicbasketcase · 23/05/2013 07:12

Personalise a can of tango with the word 'fuckwit'.

KneeDeepInDaisies · 23/05/2013 07:18

Forget what I said. Do what Picnic said and tag him in the picture Grin

getyourheadout · 23/05/2013 07:44

delete and block him , then you wont have to see anything he says about anyone .

CloudsAndTrees · 23/05/2013 07:58

Do you get on with your BIL?

I don't think it matters that he didn't do one for you. He didn't do one for his brother either. But doing one for your DHs ex is just shit stirring, so ignore it.

DeWe · 23/05/2013 10:29

I would find it strange that he has your husbands ex-gf as a friend on fb if they never got on anyway.

WorraLiberty · 23/05/2013 10:32

How do you know she doesn't like him?

Why would she be Facebook friends with someone she doesn't like?

Patchouli · 23/05/2013 10:32

Maybe he fancied / fancies her.

WorraLiberty · 23/05/2013 10:33

Personalise a can of tango with the word 'fuckwit'.

Classic! Grin Grin Grin

I'm with picnicbasket - only make it Panda cola - tango's too nice.

quoteunquote · 23/05/2013 13:10

I would of de friended him at that point.

samandi · 23/05/2013 13:16

you and your family both sound weird. And I'd lay off the diet coke too.

diddl · 23/05/2013 13:26

Don't know about disrespectful, but I'd sure as hell be embarrassed to have such a juvenile BIL.

I mean really, named virtual coke cans??

I find it odd that anyone would want a real one!

Pagwatch · 23/05/2013 13:30

I think you are layering quite a serious concept -disrespect- on to a very childish example of someone just possibly not liking you that much.

It really is too childish to fret about and I would feel very embaressed at anyone thinking such a pathetic thing had bothered me, it's just so undignified.

I would ignore and then hide or block him. You don't have to like him nor he, you.
And I agree with quoteunquote 'look, I am naming coke bottles for adults' would have me defriending in a nano second.

AllYoursBabooshka · 23/05/2013 13:35

My BiL spent his day online doing cans for everyone in the family

What age is he?

HazeltheMcWitch · 23/05/2013 13:37

Did he somehow mix up your names?
Either way, this is just silliness. Ignore.

thistlelicker · 23/05/2013 13:38

I'd like the pic too, an then leave a comment saying she's your fav ex as he's split with her and u now married him!
