I cannot look at the gaping holes above the window any longer. I dont like to get undressed in the evening thinking that neighbours (unlikely actually) could be able to see me.

The curtain pole fell down around Christmas, it is nearly the end of May now! And there is a blind to fit in ds1s room. There are other bits and pieces too.

Dh has said "I will do it" since January. I just dont believe him anymore...

So, tomorrow I have booked a man with power-tools....

Glad it worked out. Although I'm deeply disappointed that this thread was about DIY... I'd expected something much racier from the title.

My Dh is a great DIYer, but there are things he doesn't know. So he uses Youtube and watches lots of videos by professionals on how to do stuff he hasn't tried before. It has saved us a ton of money.
At the moment he's painting window sills in the kitchen and dining room. two bedrooms left and all the sills will look like new.

Primrose - afaik you put some tape on the tile and drill through the tape .....

I cant believe I will now go to bed, and have curtains in my bedroom!

My old one retired and the inconsiderate fucker moved to Spain, for his bones, he is over 75 and Spanish by birth. .

Anyway since he left, not quite house falling down, just lots of niggily things that I used to put on a list and 2 hours later, done. . .
