trivial but dds (4&5) are currently packing their bags to go the nannys house because their dinner apparently looked like sick... it was a carbonara made from scratch which was yummy.. nanny feeds them chicken nuggets blah blah blah....

the 4 year old is most vocal in the plot... im sitting on the sofa drinking wine fighting the urge to make them some toast !

My sister at 4 left home with a bag and hid in the garden for 5 hours stubborn cow. Our mother was really panicking and called the police.

I remember running away once, taking only my favourite skirt and a pair of shoes.

When I tell my DS off, he either cries to himself that he wishes he lived with his grandparents, or he goes and gets the 'Golden Rules' that we have on the wall, and reads out the one that says 'Do not hurt people's feelings'. Apparently, I really hurt his feelings when I tell him off..!

love this thread! I have no moving out stories and my DD is only 9 weeks so not quite at the moving out stage yet!

I ran away when I was little, sat in the greenhouse for what felt like ages moaning and crying to my guinea pig... no one noticed I was gone Sad

arrr stepaway thats awful :( i remember my poor dog used to get the brunt of my childhood dramas! kids are hilarious, i do wonder what she was thinking stood in the porch full of recycling, it is so small you can barely remove your shoes, but one thing i do know is I am not her best friend at the moment Grin

So glad I'm not the only one whose children do this Grin. DS1 usually decides to move in with Gran when I tell him he has to go to bed early!

Don't give in! My little brother used to eat jelly for breakfast and noodles for dinner, cue moody brat because of all the sugar and crap he ate. I was never allowed to be fussy and therefore ate what I was given, while shooting him evil looks across the table. I don't know why they had such a double standard, but I do know he was 17 before he would eat properly. Stay strong, let them walk to nannies if they must(while following behind running from tree to tree trying not to giggle and give it away).

KhaosandKalamity · 22/05/2013 14:08

Wait, do Brits call it jelly? Wobbly gelatine desert for breakfast, not jam.

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/05/2013 14:11

Yes jelly. Eaten with icecream at parties. Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/05/2013 14:11

American jello I think.

EduCated · 22/05/2013 14:12

I ran away once. My Mum shut the door.

That rather took the wind out of my sails Blush

My ds packed to leave home once. I can't remember exactly what for but something like 'no sweets in the house' or messy bedroom.
I started to pack a bag for myself so he asked what I was doing. I told him I too would like sweets/tidy bedroom so I'm going to leave home with him because it would be awful on my own without him.
It stopped him in his tracks and neither of us even made it to the front door :)
