but why not? Seriously! It is an easy method of transport for short journeys. My children ride theirs. I'm not allowed to cycle on the pavement. I just do not understand the flabbergasted reactions!

DH has started using DD1's scooter for short trips.

He loves it.

Why not, I'm 45. I trampoline, go on swings and a sneak down slides when no ones noticing, I love water chutes and wave pools and roller coasters. If my DDS scooted I would too.

Dh and I had a wonderful time riding the dc's scooters between Boscombe and Bournemouth beach front in the off season - added bonus was we embarrassed the children.

Mind you it it is a fair bit of exercise

noisy ewww no! Those parents on the school run get my goat every time. They have this breezy, insouciant air as they whiz past, but I always think, "trying too hard. Yes, yes we get it, you are fun and zany, but FFS, reel it in"

My dh often scoots with our son and sometimes on his own. I see an adult commuting by scooter roughly once a month on London. I don't see why not.

DH got one for himself after our older boys started scooting. He goes out for rides with them.

Yes he looks silly but he doesn't care - and maybe I'm just jealous because I now find all sorts of things I loved when I was a kid like swings and scooting now make me feel light headed.
