To think every father should do this?

hmm, IMO, they should only do it if they have been really really useless or supportive etc during their partner's labour or if they're being really inconsiderate during pg!! As punishment maybe!!
My o.h was brill through my pg, he was so calm and really helped me relax through my labour and when I went into labour, he managed to get 2 midwives to meet us at the "unmanned" MLU I was desperate to have our l.g at (I hate hospitals and we went for a tour in the MLU and we knew that was the place!)
So I would never personally put my o.h through it as he's been very good!! Then again, the simulator could be worse than actual labour. My pain threshold is terribly low, but I didn't find labour very painful at all and was waiting to be in dire agony, but that only came for a short second while dd's head came out!! :/
Anyway!! Sorry for the waffle, but no, I think this should only be used in extreme circumstances when a guy needs a real reality check as to what labour may be like/ was like for his o.h!
