Do you think she'd thank me for it in 40 years??

She'll thank you if, instead of anti-wrinkle cream, you put sun-screen on her instead...

phnarphnarphnar · 08/05/2013 10:17

Yes I thought that - was thinking an anti-wrinkle cream with a sunscreen in it!!

You might as well start off young..prevention is better than cure :)

Fakebook · 08/05/2013 10:22

I used to work with a girl who started wearing anti wrinkle cream at the age of 16. She had amazing skin at 25. Yeah do it!

Peevish · 08/05/2013 10:22

Yes, especially if she is a smiley baby - think of the smile lines!

utterlyslutterly · 08/05/2013 10:27

If her smile lines are excessive, you could think about fillers?

gordyslovesheep · 08/05/2013 10:28

Maybe some botox to be sure

sugarandspite · 08/05/2013 10:29

If you really love her, you'd get her on the Botox ASAP. Prevention better than cure and all that.

EggsMichelle · 08/05/2013 10:29

Instead of fillers, Botox is an ideal preventative measure

Whoknowswhocares · 08/05/2013 10:30

Better safe than sorry.....Botox is the answer
If she can never move her face into an expression, then she will be safe from lines for far, far longer Grin

EggsMichelle · 08/05/2013 10:30

Major x post!

Fakebook · 08/05/2013 10:30

You might want to start using some anti cellulite treatment on those bum dimples too.

SPsYoniTheOneAndOnly · 08/05/2013 10:30

Yes as by the toddler stage they start looking like pugs.

Lip fillers will be great too

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 08/05/2013 10:31

My Mum started me moisturising when I was ten...I have good skin now...some of that is genetics and a LOT of it is that I was an anti social goth type who stayed out of the sun as a kid!

badtasteyoni · 08/05/2013 10:34

But fakebook doesn't every 25 year old have amazing skin? Confused

UnChartered · 08/05/2013 10:37

what's wrong with natural wrinkles Confused

sun damage of course i think should be avoided at all cost, but wrinkles are natural - it's what happens to skin

Fakebook · 08/05/2013 10:37

Not if they don't use anti wrinkle cream Wink.

UnChartered · 08/05/2013 10:38

have you thought about just tying her hair back really tight if you're really paranoid?

TheOrchardKeeper · 08/05/2013 10:45

They've proven in quite a few studies that simply moisturizing daily (with something that has an SPF of over 15 etc) is enough to stop you prematurely aging.

I can understand not wanting to look old before your time or do unnecessary damage but this seems a tad OTT (as many of the effects of anti-wrinkle creams are actually temporary and 'wear off' when you stop using it. The lasting benefits come from the moisturizing & protection from UV light).

Also, maybe don't tell her what you're doing it for etc? Don't want to sound judgy but surely the blissful ignorance of their 'appearance' & 'beauty' is a good thing when they're little? It can be quite damaging to the developing mind after all, especially in girls/young women?

isitsnowingyet · 08/05/2013 10:48

This thread is not serious?!! Hmm

TheOrchardKeeper · 08/05/2013 10:48

I am hoping that isitsnowing' Grin Hmm

greenhill · 08/05/2013 10:56

Just think of all the chemicals you are introducing her body too...how many ingredients are listed on the anti-wrinkle cream? Only aqua (water) is provably benign

LEMisdisappointed · 08/05/2013 11:01

but greenhill, its good because she is desensitising her - when she comes to have her chemical peel for her 16th birthday her face will be ready for it :)

LibertineLover · 08/05/2013 11:02

This is a joke thread right? Never bloody know on MN!

phnarphnarphnar · 08/05/2013 11:02

lol the initial thought (as I was applying my own cream this morning!) was lighthearted but then I started thinking... actually what if I did start putting it on her.

Sunscreen obv the better option though.

So sort of not serious but sort of serious too!
