... to NOT want to get in his darn jacuzzi! (lighthearted - and yet not)

A few days ago DH received a text from his friend and work buddy joyfully announcing that he has bought a jacuzzi to put in his back garden. Basic style with no filters.

My heart sank immediately and my fears were all confirmed when we were invited over yesterday and told cheerfully (by text) to bring our cozzies as the jacuzzi was up and running.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :(

Why, why do people think it's a nice idea to suddenly abandon normal social etiquette and expect you to bathe with them in a hot, swirly soupy mess? Especially in the middle of the afternoon! (ie: not even late at night and pissed after a glass of wine)

I managed to get out of it yesterday using faffy excuses. DH got in for a while. Said it was cramped, but ok.

My issues are three-fold and equal in strength -

  1. It's just skanky. I'm not even keen on swimming pools.
  2. I am shy about stripping off. I have really big boobs which are a bit 'in your face' when i'm in a cozzie Blush and i struggle with this.
  3. I have a deep sort of uncomfortable feeling about the situation which i can't quite define. To be honest I feel the friend may be perv'ing a bit. I feel awful saying that but it's true.

Before you all decide no.3 is because of no.2 ... hear this: i've thought about this and if it were my best friend and her DH, or our neighbours perhaps, who had bought a jacuzzi and wanted me and DH in it i'd still think no.1, and a bit of no.2, but no pervy worries.

So - what's the feelings out there on this? Do i keep making excuses? Do i be honest? I feel a real killjoy sitting out, and in all seriousness i can see that as summer goes on there's going to be invites for boozy evenings in the bloody jacuzzi - and i'll be like a spare prick at a wedding prude sat away on the lawn!

WWYD please?

big boobs really go crazy in a bubbly jacuzzi - OMG, bloody hell i didn't even think of that!

Fungal infection, time of the month + eczema all good ones. So is the feeling faint one actually.

thenightsky - you've summed that up very succinctly, thank you Grin I'm an average sort of body size (12ish) but i have 34FFs and i am old enough to know and admit that they don't go un-noticed. Sitting there jiggling (thank you maddening) in a bikini would be excruciatingly embarrassing for me.

mandy - DH knows i'm not keen on the idea and thinks it's mainly because of the cleanliness side of it. (DH was only happy getting in because he knew the water had been changed the night before incidently) I don't think he realises how uncomfy i am with the booby, pervy bit. I'd feel bad saying that about his friend though.

They make Jacuzzi's with no filters? That is minging. No way in hell I'd get into that soup.
I've used normal ones that are connected to swimming pool filters at friends houses, but never one that doesn't have a filter

Why would you need an excuse? Why not just say : 'No I don't want to.' ?

" you've summed that up very succinctly, thank you I'm an average sort of body size (12ish) but i have 34FFs and i am old enough to know and admit that they don't go un-noticed." Grin

I suggest you brazen it out just the ONCE. [evil cackle] And you can be sure that his wife will put a stop to ever again inviting you. Wink
