to think that two different types of roll-on/spray shouldn't be needed to not smell

Serious post.

Very case of bad BO.

Bad bad bad.

Not sure why, never a problem before, but now it is.

Should a roll-on and a spray at the same time, both be required, or is there a perfectly acceptable version of each that will by itself, do the job?

Have you tried all the big guns?

Mitchum... Triple dry... Perspirex etc?

JellyBellyWorkWear · 30/04/2013 22:02

Sure 24hr did the job nicely during pregnancy when nowt else did

Why AIBU?

Salmotrutta · 30/04/2013 22:03

Have you tried Mitchum roll -on?

I bought some of the 24hour stuff because it was on a special offer - but unfortunately I reacted to it so had to chuck it (I get eczema). It seemed good though?

Salmotrutta · 30/04/2013 22:03

Ah, X- post

DamnBamboo · 30/04/2013 22:03

Desperate for quick answers jelly.

No hazel will try all of the above.

Any personal recommendations?

Wash with Hibiscrub or use antibac gel. Both will kill the bacteria which causes the smell.

KatoPotato · 30/04/2013 22:04

Mitchum all the way!

HazeltheMcWitch · 30/04/2013 22:05

Mitchum stick for me. The aerosol just seems to flake off, and the roll-on takes too long to dry.

valiumredhead · 30/04/2013 22:06

MItchum is good, Lynx Africa stick is cheaper and leaves no stains on clothes and smells feminine and works just as well ( I used ds's once when I had run out of my stuff!)

DamnBamboo · 30/04/2013 22:06

That's three for Mitchum!

Bath and thorough scrub everyday already gold will either of those make a difference?

Has your diet changed? Could it be something you are eating that is causing it? Could you do an elimination diet?

CheeseStrawWars · 30/04/2013 22:07

Is it you or is it lingering BO in your clothes being released as they warm up next to your skin? Artificial fibres in particular hang on to BO smells.

expectingno2 · 30/04/2013 22:07

I found I smelt horribly with mitchum. Just changed to a sure 48 hour one in a stick with tricool or something like that and it is truly amazing! Hardly any sweat and no pong

Dawndonna · 30/04/2013 22:09

Mitchum here too. My dm had serious problems until she had some sweat glands removed from under her arms, but she used Mitchum and it made a significant difference. Dd2 has probs in that department, too. She loves Mitchum!

DamnBamboo · 30/04/2013 22:09

Definitely on clothes.

Cotton tops though?

Diet is probably slightly different, more dairy and fat. Also now that I've put on weight, I notice it to be stronger!

DamnBamboo · 30/04/2013 22:10

Never sweaty, just pongy. My mother had the same problem.

Mitchum has cropped up repeatedly here.

Clearly you all know something I don't.

I will buy some first thing.

Goldmandra · 30/04/2013 22:11

I discovered it when DD had lots of emergency admissions to hospital and I kept ending up there with nothing for me.

They didn't stop me sweating of course but they did make a massive difference by stopping that smell which usually appears within a short time if you start.

I also started putting it on every morning after my shower when I got eczema from deodorant for a while. It worked really well as an alternative.

CheeseStrawWars · 30/04/2013 22:11

Deodorant residue on clothes can trap BO smells, so if you're using a lot of deodorant you might be perpetuating the problem. Link to tips on treating

Thanks cheese

I had a problem with Dove and then Sure not working, but recently I bought Aldi's own and it's fantastic!!!

JellyBellyWorkWear · 30/04/2013 22:14

fair nuff

The other thing I found was being very free of underarm hair made a huge difference, as did dressing sensibly. If you've put on weight are your tops pulling under the arms or synthetic?

DamnBamboo · 30/04/2013 22:16

thanks bubbs.

No hair jelly, clothes correct size, don't like tight things.

Have gone up to a 12/14. So not too big, just bigger than I was.

But coincidentally this is when I noticed the issue of sweat and BO

valiumredhead · 30/04/2013 22:17

The Powder Fresh Mitchum smells lovely.

FrickingFedUp · 30/04/2013 22:17

Mitchum. Been using it for 13 years now and I forget what a sweaty Betty I am until I try something different.

Perspirex nearly burnt my pits off.

DamnBamboo · 30/04/2013 22:19

DONE

Mitchum all the way.

Thanks everyone Smile
