Disclaimer: intended to be lighthearted and I do appreciate some kids don't have enough to eat Sad

They are 3 and almost 6. Today has consisted of the following for each of them:

1.5 weetabix topped with milk, honey & blueberries
An apple
A banana (shared)
Boiled egg & toasted home-made bread soldiers
French fancy type cake from the local bakers
Small fromage frais
Another apple & a plum
Kinder chocolate stick
Some cucumber slices
Steak pie, broccoli, boiled potatoes
Jelly pot & custard pot (shared)
A few Haribo each

They are now asking what's for supper later on!!! Have they got hollow legs or do all children need this much feeding? They are both very lean, active and seem to want to eat all the time! Roll on tomorrow and they will be back at school and nursery!

DS1 eats by far the most in our house.

He is 12 so growing fast and v sporty but I honestly don't know where he puts it all.

Breakfast, 3 Weetabix and a banana.

Breakfast again, 2 slices of toast with cheese.

Snack, after rubgy, sausage barm.

Lunch, bacon and tomato on 2 muffins.

Snack, 1 packet of Walkers French Fries, one whole packet of boasters biscuits

Dinner Roast lamb with 4 yorkshire pudkins and a mountain of veg

Snack; banana

Snack; pot of houmous with handful of pittas

Supper, big slice of homemade cheese and potato pie with beans (that was meant to be for tomorrows dinner)

He has washed it all down with about a gallon of milk. He is so thin as well. we cant afford to keep him much longer.

They are the type of children who will happily graze all day yet struggle with a big meal.

Some people graze, some people eat rigid meals. I have never eaten rigid meals, I graze when I'm hungry. I don't like meals.

Your children are much younger than mine and should be having 5-6 small portions a day, rather than 3 full meals. That stops the highs and lows of digestion, especially at school. Breakfast, mid morning fruit, lunch, after school fruit, dinner, fruit if needed before bed. Whole lot of fruit going on!

In this house there are meals and all snack food is fruit with possibly something like jelly, yogurt, rice pudding or crumpets chucked in occasionally.
