To ask you lovely lot where to buy an ironing board from?

I know I probably am BU, but I am stumped, where on earth do I buy on from?

I'm clearly a slattern and haven't bought an ironing board for years, covers yes, board no and mine has definitely died.

My choices are;
tesco (not big)
Asda
The Range
Argos
Wilkinsons?

What about electrical shops? Do they sell them?

Or do I drive a bit further for

A bigger Tesco/Asda
Dunlin Mill

I need a ironing board that is good for steam irons, tall people, and preferably wider that a cheap one.

Homebase or B and Q maybe.

All of those places you mention will have them.

Wilkos, good value and would have more choice than a supermarket. Also get an extra long one if you can - much easier for trousers.

I would go to the place you can park right outside. Dunelm or Argos here.

Mine was from Argos. I bought it from there because that's where they had the prettiest covers the closest place that sold them and I don't drive so had to walk home with it.

Noooo!! We are spoilt we have an out of town one. In that case the big Tesco.

Ohhhh, that must be why I got so many funny looks Sparkling! I must have looked like a very lost surfer, wandering around a central town location! Although the canal is only 10 mins away, so I could've been headed there

I'm not even sure out Wilcos sells them.

I'd love to have a just out of town shopping place nearby everywhere requires driving to.

If I do tesco or asda I can get new school shirt for the DCs too because I successfully managed to dye them a scabby yellow/cream colour yesterday whilst trying to bleach the stains out of them

Me too. DS2 needs school trousers. Oh joy.

Ah I can get away with school trousers as dc2 can wear dc1s, but the white polo shirts never last long enough to be passed down.

DS1 wears 'charcoal' and DS2 'Grey Marl'. Really annoying.

I can't keep the white polo shirts white, the mud at DS2's school must be different.

I got one in Wilkinsons for about a tenner, it's nice and sturdy and has a lovely cover. I don't have much experience of ironing boards, that was the first one I'd bought for myself, so I don't know how it compares to others, but it was reasonably priced. I don't drive and lived on the high street so just carried it home under one arm.
