To think 'Fat' Monica is about a size 16?

They've just replayed one of the friends episodes where Monica is fat - not the one in the actual past but the one in the pretend future and she doesn't look that fat to me Confused

I'm sure she looked fatter in the 'past' one. The only bit that looks actually chubby is her face.

But what is the point in this? The make up artist of friends didn't say "let's make her a 20 on top and an 18 below" they just wanted to juxtapose her life in a "what if" way as she is so skinny usually.

i think the point is that the 'fat' monica wasn't actually as big as all the gags about her weight made her sound. suggesting that they think anything above hip bones protuding is hideously embarassing and worthy of having fun poked at it.

I think in both those pics posted on this thread, she looks pretty fat. And that's in general. Compared to "normal" Monica I think she looks obese. Just my opinion though :)

Lots people look obese next to normal Monica, but I still don't think it means fat Monica was as big as they joked she was.

yes she was overweight, that's not being disputed. and 'normal' monica was very thin so a comparison would obviously show a big difference.

Definitely about a size 20-22, I am watching it now.

I think we have become very used to people being bigger in general now so our perspectives of sizes are all messed up!

It would depend on her heiht anyway, I think she is fairy short?

Lets face it you get posters on here crying into their cornflakes they area fat size 12, whihc does annoy me, I'd call that healthy. I think they do it for attention in the hopes everyone soothes and a says 'but a 12 is tiny'

It's the fat around her face that makes her look massive - I am 5'8" and size 18 uk and have a jaw and neck etc - the way her face is done up looks substantially more overweight than a size 16.

In that I think they have exaggerated the fat around her face in comparison to the size that her body is made to look.
