Shock

Cannot believe the cost per term.

And my son is now dramatically saying that I am preventing him from becoming an actor Grin....trust me...he is already THERE!

I suppose I can just about believe the cost but no way can I justify £80+ per month or afford it.

Stagecoach one of the...variable.....ones.

Our one is what I describe as "Teeth,, tits and tush, darling, teeth, tits and tush" Ghastly.Particularly for children.

if he has autism do some web site searching. I can't remember the name now but my ds did a course for free at the Royal Opera house culminating in putting on a performance and then a couple of film courses and acting too. I am wracking my brains for the name of the group but it won't come to me. All we had to do was get to covent garden on a Saturday. Trouble is he did it when he was 12 and he's 23 now. I know there was an acting class on a Saturday as well. In fact the Royal Opera house might be able to give you details of the groups name. It was brilliant all the kids loved it one even travelled from Northampton for it. I will keep thinking

Local theatre group. There has got to be something cheaper.

Dd's youth theatre has just finished the casting for a big community production that you can join for the very reasonable sum of £15. 72 children auditioned, everybody was offered a part. Totally inclusive and very friendly, will take anyone regardless of SN and really warm friendly feel to it. The drama classes are nowhere near as expensive as yours and dd has learnt a lot.

The big franchises are very expensive. There will be local groups that are cheaper - try your local theatre as a first go. My DS is younger than yours but also has HFA and as an ex-actor I would be very wary of putting him up for extras work. Lots and lots of unstructured time, not that well paid and you would probably have to chaperone him too.

Have you a Helen O'Grady drama franchise near you?
Way cheaper than stagecoach as they only do drama not drama/singing/dancing.
Been good for DD1 who likes acting, and for DD2 to help with confidence.
In my experience not at all pushy, and limited/no extra costs. e.g. in play term either have supplied costumes or they have been easy to find items from charity shops etc.
