To allow my 12 year old son to wax/thread eyebrows

My 12 year old DS has a monobrow. If has become worse over the last year as he is going through puberty.
He is being teased at school, and although he tells me that he does not feel he is being bullied, he has become alot quieter and shuts himself away in his room. This could just be his age though!
I spoke to DH husband about waxing/threading and he thinks it is a stupid idea, and that lots of men have monobrows and it is just one of those things. My DH has a slight monobrow but his hair is lighter than DS and not as obvious.
It only bothers me as it bothers my DS. I would also be worried about re growth as he would have to keep waxing/threading.
Any ideas?

Just make sure you only pluck the middle, even if you only just slightly pluck below and above the actual eyebrows i think there's potential for it to look a bit too feminine.

I also second the gradual change.

My ds (13) actually asked me to pluck his monobrow a month ago, it took 2 mins pinned down on the sofa and we hAvnet told anyone including DH due to potential teasing.... If he wants it, do it!

Nothing wrong with waxing them both my boys with mono's do. But they go to a salon because I'm useless at that sort of thing I'm pretty sure they started going at about 12 as well.

Oh sorry yanbu.

Update -
Thank you so much for the advice.
He decided to go for plucking the centre bit only.
Armed with a hot flannel we just spent a couple of minutes plucking. Decided to go with the gradually route and just plucked until there was a small gap and no join in the middle.
He still has lovely bushy, manly eyebrows.
I'm sorry to hear that your daughter suffered with bullying safemist. Children can be so cruel at times.
I now know that my son's main concern was that he would be called 'gay' if he changed them. Damned if you do and damned if you don't!
Thanks once again. I have a happy boy.

My ds 15 plucks his and has done for a while now since it's been bothering him.

I used to have a monobrow :/ and after years of plucking the hairs grow back finer and lighter so he'll find that he'll probably be only doing it once a month. I would maybe have the first time waxed and then keep it up with plucking. I never have a proper sit down session of plucking I kind of pluck a few hairs once every few days when they appear and only takes seconds.

Dh used to do dss's mono brow when he came to stay-he would have been 12/14. He's an adult now and remembers it with fondness and thanks dh for realising and just doing it without a huge fuss.

Nowadays its very commonplace for young men to have it done, they don't all come out looking like Rylan.

Pancake am glad to hear he feels better about himself:) lets hope the pathetic bullying stops and he feels at ease asking you to help him:)

Definitely agree with the plucking everyday gradually and keeping up with it:)

I have a friend who has very dark, thick eyebrows. He told me his mother took him for electrolysis to remove the middle bit when he was about 15. He has never had to touch it again and is grateful to have had it done.

Could electrolysis be an option for your DS? I know it's expensive but it is a permanent solution.
