To not what to be "sat next to" on the bus

I am quite upset actually. I have had a really hard day, so when i get on the bus at the end of the day, i just want a bit of "me" time. I don't want to sit there squashed up with someone, or worse, someone elses child sat next to me.

So i did the accepted thing and put my bag on the seat next to me. This is surely a sign that you have had a bad day and just want to be alone isn't it??

The bus fills up with people, now if there had been OLDpeople there i would have grudgingly moved my bag, but there wasn't just a man with a baby and his DD who he had picked up from school. She was fidgeting around and not holding on, so she fell over. Now of course im symathetic but she should have been holding on.

Then some mouthy cow started gobbing off at me, asking me to move my bag?? I mean, she could have just said, would you mind moving, but oh now, the common mare asked me if my bag REALLY needed the seat? I mean, the cheek of it . I did ask her if she meant to be so rude - she said yes Shock The audacity of some people

This is why i don't travel on the bus anymore!! Angry The child was perectly capable of standing!

Public transport is full of strangers - that is par for the course, and whilst I am sorry you had had a stressful day, it was rude and thoughtless of you to keep a vacant seat next to you when there were people standing up on the bus.

Very bad manners indeed, I'm afraid.

RedPencils · 19/04/2013 16:31

She sounds like a rude bitch
Bet she's a nethunner [evil cackle]

dawntigga · 19/04/2013 16:31

I'll bet the rude woman who sat next to you has a bloody goat as well!

I'm going to be bitched out here but it's one of my absolute pet hates. I understand that the wee girl could have stood but if you're taking up two seats you should pay two fares. It's the rudest thing! I'm pregnant just now and I'm hardly showing so it's not outwardly noticible, but even so my back is KILLING me!

It really really bothers me when I get on a bus or a train and see that the only seat left is taken up by some selfish man/woman's bag! How can you possibly know that one of those people standing isn't actually having a really hard time having to stand but is too shy/embarrassed to ask you to move your bag? I've been in that situation myself where, due to awful bullying at school, I had extremely low self esteem and I was standing on the bus one day because there were no empty seats (taken up by bags and people sitting on the outside seats) and I had terrible, terrible period pain. I was so shy and embarrassed to ask to sit down and the pain was so excruciating that I fainted on the bus.

Have some respect.

Lucyellensmum95 · 19/04/2013 16:35

She had some sort of animal feed in her Lidl bag!!! I wouldn't mind but the kid was washing her haribos down with a fecking fruitshoot and was up and down like a yoyo the whole rest of the bus journey. I really think that people should either control their kids or not bring them onto public transport.

Thankyou SDTwoleflady - bad manners indeed. I am just glad the kid didn't put her sticky mits on my new boden skirt!

I meant to say, people shouldn't HAVE to ask you to move your bag. You should just move it out of common courtesy.

I sat next to someone on the bus yesterday when it was busy. It emptied out after a while, and she made to get out so I assumed she was getting off. But no, she just wanted a seat for her bag or I smell

I'm assuming this is a joke about another thread...?

TantrumsAndBalloons · 19/04/2013 16:36

Classy. And pretty.

I like the sound of her Grin

Dittle · 19/04/2013 16:36

Exactly what I said Mutt.

Lucyellensmum95 · 19/04/2013 16:36

MrsDeVEre - this is exactly WHY i dont use public transport, but my chauffer is off with D&V and i didn't want to have to engage in coversation with a taxi driver. Im a very private person! Things have changed since i used to get the bus - thats for sure

Grin lucy you are very naughty!

GreenPeppercorn · 19/04/2013 16:38

Well spank me thrice and call me Mary I had no idea I had been foolishly enduring the thigh pressed against thigh discomfort of the morning bus to work when all I had to do was plonk my bag on the seat next to me and thereby ensure all the smelly haribo munchers stood up! I'm soooo stooopid.

I am glad i have helped you greenpeppercorn - the bag thing used to work for me before, but now people are just so brazen!! I wont be using public transport again in a hurry!

MrsDevere - would you like the job?

OP posts:
JamieandtheMagicTorch · 19/04/2013 16:43

You don't need to put your bag on the seat, just have your legs really wide apart to accomodate your large gonads. Also, read the Torygraph at full stretch, and tut when anyonecomes near.

Dittle · 19/04/2013 16:43

Me too :L oh well :P

Jamie - usually my hairy hands are enough to put people off.

Does it need to be a specific bag in order to keep plebs away?
