to think that men being killed by their wives is not funny

This video starts with the tale a man apparently raped to death by his six wives:

and continues with another story of a husband being strangled and dissected, for not showering.

It seems that abuse of men, while less common than that of women, is regarded as amusing first and foremost.

I'm guessing women in polygamous marriages do so often for economic reasons. That's not really much different from non-polygamous marriages.

I wouldn't say that either is grounds for rape and murder of the husband. Polygamy is not legal or conventional in the UK but then I guess homosexual relationships are not legal in Nigeria. That doesn't make either morally outrageous though.

No idea what the point of those two stories are or the point of putting them together. I can't imagine they are the only two incidences of wives killing husbands in the whole world and nothing else seems to connect them.

The comment 'spousal revenge' is very odd too. Revenge for what? Revenge suggest something only slightly out of proportion to an original offence but no offence is mentioned bar spending the night with one particular wife.

Very odd. I'm not sure she was trying to be funny but the article certainly seems to make light of it. It's almost like it's one of those 'funny old world' segments of the news.
