I took DH to A&E this morning after getting sent home from work after an injury (another thread)
Whilst in the waiting room a mother and daughter walked in behind us. After 10 mins we were sent to X-ray we were in X-ray around 15-20 mins. After the xray we got sent back to the waiting room.
Mother and daughter still waiting to be seen.

We were waiting for around an hour after that when the mother stands up and says to te daughter 'I best go see if he's awake yet' and walked out.

She returned 5 mins later with a baby no older than 6-8mths old in a car seat.

She'd left him in the car for over an hour because he was asleep. She was in A&E.

Wibu to have my judgey pants well up.

Btw we had ds3 with us who's 20 weeks and he was fine. Why couldn't she have carried him in in his car seat? Rather than leave him in the car where she couldn't see him Confused

My pet hate is parents leaving kids in the car while they do the school run - several at our school do this despite newsletters asking them not to - some parents leave 2 - 3 years olds eating an apple or a bag of crisps to keep them quiet, i am always worried they might choke, or try to get out the car if a bit older - sleeping babies left alone is another pet hate - they are never just left for 5 minutes either, it's always longer and often out of sight of the playground gate, while the Dc come out and they have a chatter - and they bring their handbag and mobile phone but leave their BABY in the car. What is wrong with people.

the road is a real bottle neck too - there have been several minor bumps, wing mirrors knocked off - it's not RIGHT to do this -

A friend of mine left a puking 4yo child alone in the car 1/4 of a mile away from the school, rather than bring her and the bucket out of the car - being ill is even more reason NOT to leave them alone IMO!

That picture of the newborn left in the car alone is so sad

i get the judgeypants but like some of the other posters say, you can't be sure that no-one else was in the car. i feel like there is no point asking about it now, if it really did trouble you you should have said something at the time to establish facts.

I think there are plenty of people who do this sort of thing. Or leave their chidlren alone in the house at a very young age. Occasionally it comes out in the media when something tragic happens but it goes on all the time....

Sorry I'd missed that she returned with the baby.

Clearly it doesn't look like there was a third party.

I'm horrified; hoik away.

My friend left her baby in her car whilst she nipped to asda for some Gas. When she got outside the police confronted her and said shed broken the law by leaving her child unattended and her registration had been noted. If it happened again she would be notified to social services for neglect Blush. She said I was 5 mins, she could see the cop car in the car oak but didn't think more about it.
