to think it's a bit sad to tell your partner about threads on MN?

I don't really hilarious ones where you're finding it so funny and he'll ask what the hell are you laughing at. Or generally classic threads.

But just from being on the site and reading comments, I've seen a few women say well my DH says this about the subject. When it's quite a mundane and ordinary thread.

Or I even saw someone say they had been texting their DH all day to keep him updated on a thread.

Do people have nothing better to talk about?

I just don't think my partner would ever be interested.

(I think using the word sad might come across as harsh so I apologise, I couldn't think of another word)

xbox thread?

What did I miss THIS time?

Theicingontop · 16/04/2013 19:46

...'magonna have to beg for a link to this xbox thread orwhat?

Moominsarehippos · 16/04/2013 19:48

Was that the one where the teenager mouthed off to his mum and she threw the xbox out of the attic window? I had a peek earlier and am not sure how that one is going.

I've found Mumsnet in the main useful and amusing. When I can't sleep there's always someone around for a chat or someone I can whinge to when its getting horrible in the real world.

LineRunner · 16/04/2013 19:49

This one just for hec and icing.

Moominsarehippos · 16/04/2013 19:50

Link? Bigger I can't remember but its either in chat or relationships with a title like 'I've really fucked this up' or summit.

Moominsarehippos · 16/04/2013 19:50

Bigger = bugger

LineRunner · 16/04/2013 19:51

I think 99% of posters are saying 'Well done for chucking the xbox out of the top floor window'.

So all anyone with a teenage DS and an xbox has to do is show them the thread, and peace will reign. In the right hands, it's a powerful parenting weapon.

LineRunner · 16/04/2013 19:52

I posted the link, Moomin, a few posts up ^^

cluecu · 16/04/2013 19:54

I talk to everyone I know about mn as I love it so much. My dp has now installed the app Grin

Moominsarehippos · 16/04/2013 19:55

I am slow! I am slow! (Have we had Easter yet?)

I'm always threatening to throw the DS (the toy not the child) out of the window and we are on the 4th floor. Can I repeat, that's the DS gadgety toy doodah, not the small boy who plays it.

LineRunner · 16/04/2013 20:03

Sell it on ebay. I got £50 for ours. (The toy, not the small boy.)

Moominsarehippos · 16/04/2013 20:05

I would have to crowbar it from small boys grip first!

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 16/04/2013 20:05

Thanks.

Wow. That's an entertaining story! I have sometimes fantasised about doing stuff like that! The number of times I have dreamed about chucking my pc out the window, I tell you! Grin

HalfBakedCleverCookie · 16/04/2013 20:06

I tell dp but he would probably rather I didn't tbh.

Moominsarehippos · 16/04/2013 20:11

DH is probably scared that I'm blabbing all of our Deep Dark Secrets on here.

neunundneunzigluftballons · 16/04/2013 20:14

I think YABU but Dh thinks YANBU.

thegreylady · 16/04/2013 20:19

I read bits to mine.He is especially fond of a good bumsex thread as this is an area beyond our experience Grin

andubelievedthat · 17/04/2013 00:04

My fella has no interest in this site >>>except >>>threads re spiders and threads re cats ,which he finds hilarious, as i do .

Binkybix · 17/04/2013 09:12

The only me I've done this is when one poster recently was being so infuriating and dumb I had to share, because I knew would annoy him too. I'm nice o him like that.

I agree it's odd to get DH's view to add in unless he has specific expertise on topic being discussed or a man's point of view on a DH related thread is helpful (still would not post on latter though personally)

AmazingBouncingFerret · 17/04/2013 09:33

If I attempt to talk to DH about anything on MN his eyes start to glaze over and he gets all fidgety.

I do the same when he talks to me about his work.

S'all good.

Owllady · 17/04/2013 09:37

well he found the yoni massage stuff funny but he isn't from hull

ElleMcFearsome · 17/04/2013 09:41

Blimey - don't know how DH and I would converse without the internet and all it's glory. He bores me to tears informs me about the latest goings on on TechRadar and I, in turn, reward him with MN snippets. He asked me what had happened about the locked shed thread a few days ago.

As others have said, it's the same as anything interesting on blogs, the radio, news etc. He's scared enough of the AIBU vipers not to want to join though Grin

MrsSpagBol · 17/04/2013 09:48

Elle what happened with the locked shed story?!

Yoghurty · 17/04/2013 09:51

If it's a bit sad, then guilty as charged Grin

DP sees me on my phone and asks me 'who's being unreasonable?'
