To think this is utterly disgusting.

Took Dd to see Dora at the theatre yesterday. I know it is for kids and so it wasn't like a normal trip to see a show. However, I was shocked to see a mum whip out a potty and let her little darling do a poo. She then popped it in a bag and dumped it in normal bin.
I was stuck in the middle of the row and couldn't get out to let the staff know but when she did it for a second time, complete with "good boy, what a clever boy" I had to say something.
I asked if she could take him to the toilet next time as I didn't think the auditorium was the place for this, not to mention the smell. She got very angry and said I shouldn't come to a children's show if I didn't like children being children. Blush
At this point the staff came over and removed the potty.
I stand by my point that no matter whether the show was for children, she should not have got the potty out there. Yuck!

When the staff removed the potty, was there a chorus of...

"SWIPER STOP SWIPING!!?

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2013 11:43

Eww. Yuck. And two poos? Confused

theodorakisses · 13/04/2013 11:44

If you were the mum in Qatar Airways Business class from Doha to Heathrow who not only whipped out a potty but then asked everyone to clap when Tabbitha did a poo, please take note. Your sort are not welcome.

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2013 11:48

'I'm the crap, I'm the crap, I'm the crap' more like Worra.

VisualiseAHorse · 13/04/2013 11:53

Why. Just why. No need at all.

Although, I quite like the idea of being able to poo without missing any of the film.

TSSDNCOP · 13/04/2013 11:55

Ah get over yourself.

Middle of a theatre is nothing. I saw a woman do this during Sunday lunch in a restaurant.

Nice.

theodorakisses · 13/04/2013 11:57

visualise does have a point, imagine having some sort of seat at the cinema or on planes where you could enjoy a good poo without having that awkward bumping along the aisle trying to get out. Actually, I would like one at home, imagine being able to poo on the sofa, in my house everytime I get up to do anything, about 5 dogs follow me, someone asks for something and I usually forget that i was relaxing and start doing something else. If anyone designs a poo-chair (or poo-fa/poo-tee depending on your social class according to my mum) I will definitely road test it.

Taking potties out of the house should be illegal. In fact potties should be illegal.

So did I ever.

VisualiseAHorse · 13/04/2013 12:04

Yes, I will road-test the poo-chair too. I can't poo without an audience (LO always comes in with me, and tries to put his hands down the loo), so I may as well be doing it in the living room.

WorraLiberty · 13/04/2013 12:06

I thought she meant the woman too!! Grin Grin

I may take a commode next time I go to the Odeon. Grin Just put it in the aisle.

Lovecat · 13/04/2013 12:12

You need a commode. They were very popular in the Regency period apparently. And they even do modern ones - this would look lovely in a conservatory...Confused

Lovecat · 13/04/2013 12:13

xpost with Sparklingbrook. Between this and the Yoni thread my search history is looking well dodgy...

OneFingerSjupesUpTheYoni · 13/04/2013 12:15

That is filthy :( i'm surprised the other children didn't notice! And the smell oh god ick Envy

Sparklingbrook · 13/04/2013 12:15

I prefer this one

MandragoraWurzelstock · 13/04/2013 13:44

Look we have to understand the poor woman here. She obviously felt that it might damage her child's cultural experience to have to miss this performance at his tender age...actually if it was Dora that kind of blows my theory out of the water.
