To not want a poo in my kitchen bin?

DISCLAIMER: I am not the poo troll

A friend came round today with her DD (3) to play with my DD (4) - my DD uses the loo now but her DD uses the potty. I was cooking in the kitchen and chatting when her DD comes in and asks for the potty - her mum gets the potty out and I tell her that the loo is just off the corridor from the kitchen (it's close) - her mum says that its ok, pops her daughter on the potty in the kitchen.

i think, ok, no biggie - we kept the potty in the lounge and I'd whisk DD into there (and eventually into the downstairs loo) as I just didn't feel that comfortable with her poo-ing in the kitchen when there is a very-close-by alternative option. It's no biggie, it's not like she sat her on the work-top etc.

I'm distracted by cooking, turn around, turn back and she has scooped up her daughters (thankfully solid) poo with a tissue and is popping it in my tall kitchen bin - I politely say that could she put it in the loo and she says "it doesn't matter it's just a little one" - for the sake of friendly communication I let it go, but did take my bin straight out when she left!

When DD was in nappies, I'd put wet ones (in bags) in the kitchen bin, but poo ones I just put straight out in the wheelie bin (I have quite a big bin and only usually empty it every few days so it would start to whiff) Potties would just get tipped into the loo.

AIBU to not want a free-range un-restrained poo in my kitchen bin? Or am I just a prude?

Surely if a child has pooed in a potty, any normal person would empty the potty into in a toilet? (assuming there's one nearby, as there was in this case)

yanbu sounds disgusting! (I was once horrified when a friend put a dirty nappy in the kitchen bin - but at least it was all bagged up!)

That. Is. Disgusting. No, you are not a prude. These are the rules:

  1. Nobody (of any age) should ever poo in a kitchen.
  2. Poos from a potty go in a loo.
  3. Dirty nappies should be put in a nappy bag and put in the outside bin. Or thrown close to it so DH could pick them up and put them in when he came home from work.

But I don't allow nappies in my kitchen bin either We have great recycling here so the kitchen bin only really has plastic wrap in it (eg crisp bags, cling film, etc) so can go ten days or more between empties - it is effectively a wastepaper basket, not a stinky kitchen bin wanting changing every day.

Why the actual fuck didn't she empty the potty into the loo like normal people? Where did she rinse it? in the kitchen sink?!

Ewww. I use (shock! Horror!) washable nappes (well DD does) so we do have a Bin Of Poo (in the loo though).

You were cooking. She did a poo in the kitchen. Poo was picked up (using loo roll) and put into kitchen bin. Skankmungous.

I'm not so bothered about a potty in the kitchen, but our house is tiny and there's no space in the downstairs loo, or lounge. However at friends houses, I would always put our potty in the bathroom unless they specifically indicated elsewhere was fine.

Regarding poo in the bin, that is pretty disgusting. I would never put a disposable in our kitchen bin, it always went in the outside bin slung near the front door for taking out when we next go out

At friends houses we always take them outside straight away.

Yanbu she sounds mingling. I would have insisted she put it in the loo. She ounces like t type of person to get te potty out in the middle of the restaurant where people are eating
