To think I may have breached McDonald's table etiquette?

It's the holidays.

It's HEAVING in here.

I have five children with me.

We came upstairs laden with food on trays and hovered politely, and I noticed that one table was empty apart from kids coats and some colouring pens etc.

So I stood by it and did a general 'does anyone know who's sitting here?' all three surrounding tables shook their heads.

So, figuring the kids had obvs finished eating and were in the play area, I set the trays down. We stood by the table until a small child came up, so ever so politely (but quite loudly), 'have you finished? Can we sit here? Where's your grown up?'

At that point one of the women on e next table

Table etiquette in MC D's? I didn't think there was any.

DH is politeness itself. I tend to send DDs to find a table when we get near the counter.

DD2 bags a table on entering the door and ropes DD1 into the fray. DH looks embarrassed and pretends not to know her.

This of course makes a nice change from the DD2's normal 12y stance of finding us embarrassing.

I can't imagine anyone asking DD2 to move, she may look cute, but it's a very confident don't mess with me kind of cute

Yes, we have a McD's huge play area here too, LOVE IT, (except I would love to see some advertised cleaning times)

I have been known to move jackets aside and sit and start eating.... esp. if no one around table forever, besides children's jackets....

I have been known to approach parents who's children are rude.

I have been known to tell staff, if area is dirty.

I have been known to inform staff is a kid is too old to be playing in there.

We also have a small play area outside too...so, when it's nice, the kids don't mind sitting out there and eating too... (while waiting on XH to pick them up)

YANBU. Anything goes in McDonald's. I once saw a tramp piss in the food waste bin and on another occasion saw a young woman change a baby's nappy ON A TABlLE.
