To think this is not ok? (Facebook related warning)

I have an ex colleague on my Facebook who now works in a supermarket.

I often see him posting pictures of customers that he's secretly taken of them on his phone while he's working. Pictures to embarrass people and encourage everyone to laugh in particular one old man that seems to be a regular who is distinctly scruffy looking and my ex colleague is always writing how bad the man smells.

Aibu in thinking this is just really not on?

WWYD?

Wtf?! That's really out of order. I would shop him in. No pun intended . Wink

trikken · 10/04/2013 20:41

Yup report him. I would if I caught anyone doing this where I work. Ppl have been sacked for less.

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 10/04/2013 20:41

dont tell him... just report him to the store manager! with evidence if you can

he should lose his job. he should NOT have his phone on him in the first place. also isnt it against the law to take these kinds of pictures?

MadameDefarge · 10/04/2013 20:41

He is not your friend. And by posting those pics which you see he is making you a colluder in inappropriate behaviour. Go straight to your manager. And don't have colleagues as friends on fb.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 10/04/2013 20:42

No need to warn him. I would warn someone who was doing sth stupid but unwittingly but this is premeditated and plain nasty.

glenthebattleostrich · 10/04/2013 20:44

Surely if the OP warns him he will just defriend her and then carry on doing what he is doing?

Report him, he deserves it

BehindLockNumberNine · 10/04/2013 20:46

Send the link to the pictures or a screen shot of your 'friend's' fb page to the manager of the supermarket he works at.
This is totally inappropriate and if I were a customer in his supermarket and exposed / ridiculed this way I would be very very upset.

MadameDefarge · 10/04/2013 20:47

sorry. realised it was an excolleague. It is wrong. Is it your business? Yes, if you want to shop in your local supermarkets and not worry that the staff are taking the piss out of you in social media. Also to make fun of someone who sounds like they are possibly quite vulnerable is disgusting beyond measure. Defriend him and report.

thezebrawearspurple · 10/04/2013 20:58

Report to the supermarket with screen shots from his account and report his account to facebook for abusive behaviour, they'll close or suspend his account for that.

whattodoo · 10/04/2013 21:03

I think you really have to report this to his manager.

I'd be horrified if I discovered someone had been photographing me (or someone dear to me) while I was unaware, simply for the purposes of ridicule.

What would you do if you knew a customer of a supermarket was doing this - report, surely?

TheNebulousBoojum · 10/04/2013 21:06

I'd report him without warning him, it's a vile and cruel thing to photograph people in order to mock them.

ddubsgirl · 10/04/2013 21:09

Report the company I work for phones are not allowed on shop floor and can be sacked if caught with phone on you

bumperella · 10/04/2013 21:10

Report him. He is a nasty wee sh*t to mock people in this way. I'd not warn him first, i'd jsut report him immediately.

MadamFolly · 11/04/2013 09:03

I'd report him in a heartbeat.

AllThatGlistens · 11/04/2013 09:12

Definitely report him, that poor man Sad

anklebitersmum · 11/04/2013 09:29

What a horrible little specimen. I would absofuckinglutely send screen shots, but to the Head Office not the store manager.

GruffaloAteMySocks · 11/04/2013 09:32

Absolutely not on, let his line manager know.

Ullena · 11/04/2013 09:34

Screenshots to head office asap, what a bastard he is! That old man probably thinks he is happy to talk to him too...

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 11/04/2013 09:38

As others have said, screenshots to head office as soon as possible. You don't have to reveal your identity. Just express your disgust on how you feel customers have been treated.

The guy is disgusting. There are a lot of people who rely on shopping as their only opportunity for social interaction. I know a lot of elderly people who do this, it's the only time they get out of the house. The thought that people are mocking them absolutely disgusts me.

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 11/04/2013 09:43

I'd also defriended him

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 11/04/2013 09:44

(Without the extra 'ed' that my iPad added) Hmm
