To ask (3 years too late) what happened in Lost again??

A bit of a diversion from the trillion MT threads (and possibly very dull, so I apologise in advance)

My brain meanders A LOT when I'm in the shower, and I found myself thinking while in there this morning - what actually happened in the TV series Lost? I followed it avidly (saddo) and all I can gather from it is that 'they all died' which is the answer that everyone seems to give but no one really knows when or how.

Now I imagine a lot of you will think 'who gives a shit' but hey I invested a lot of time in that bloody programme god knows why and would love a brief answer if anyone knows?

Apologies if ths makes me sound like a bellend loser with no life - am at home with my 6 month old all day :)

I'm more confused now than I was three years ago. I'm going to stop reading this thread now and just be satisfied that the ending to Lost is something I will never know. I think it might be best if others do this as well.

jacob was 'the devil' or a 'dark force' who wanted to go off the island and spread the darkness but they had to keep everybody on the island I think Confused

This is my take on it.
They crashed on the island, the ones who survived lived on the island finding things out about DHARMA etc...There were flash-backs which was their actual history. Then later there was flash-forwards, which were also real (when Jack etc got off the island) Then when they went back to the island there were flash-"sidewards". These flash sidewards' were where they went once they died (whether on the island or off) and when the last one of them had died, everyone(who was dead) started realising and all got together to finally be able to go off to heaven. SO i guess the island was not purgatory (I believe the writers were adamant it was not as people were guessing that from the beginning) but the flash-sidewards was.
Follow me? cos i got a bit lost (no pun intended) when writing it lol

I do remember being behind with it and my brother asking me how I fel when Mr Ecko died. I just did this face Angry and asked him very politely to shut the eff up...

Hmmm, slightly more confused now but that's what Lost was like eh? I'd forgotten about Michael and Boon (when it all made a smidgeon of sense)

I feel like they could have taken it in a great direction but it shot off in about 5 million, like 'the others' the scottish guy who lived underground and was in love with Penny (can't remember his name) John Locke etc, etc. I guess we'll really never know...

The polar bear was there because DHARMA used to test on/train them in the cages Sawyer and Kate were trapped in.

Did anyone else get worried that Sawyer would leave Juliet for Kate when she rocked up again? Bloody loved Sawyer with Juliet. Kate was so needy and 'I love Jack, no Sawyer, no Jack, no Sawyer'. I actually wanted to punch her at times. DP liked her though.

I got really cross at the Sun and Jin death. They had a daughter who needed a parent. Jin had no right to go romantically dying with Sun. He had responsibilities.

(Can you tell dd was about 6 weeks old at the time of the last series?)

Worried there are no spoilers about Revolution, its just like Lost! 3 episodes in and I am already wondering if I should bother. Its good but I fear its going to go in the same direction and be confusing and frustrating

I hated Kate all that t shirt and short combo playing them off against each other I may have been jealous though Blush sky2 showed repeats a last year I didnt watch I dont think I would have got it if I did

so who was dead and who was alive then I think John locke was dead from the off that is why he could walk and the couple she had cancer , why did i open this thread

I was pregnant with DS during the last series, I heard the name Jacob a few times on Lost and that was it, DSs name (not from bloody Twilight) just one of those moments you hear a name, turned to DH "what about Jacob" and he said that's it? Jacob was the "baddie" though should have named him Sawyer Grin

Oh how I sobbed when Juliet fell down the big magnetic hole!

I like to think of them as different programmes that just so happened to have the same actors in - you have after the plane crash and the numbers, the others and the babies/pregnancies, the three visitors (Charlotte, faraday and the dude who could see the dead), Jacob and the other dude etc etc
