To think I'm never going to remember this (irrational annoyance about PE kit warning!)

We had a letter from school today saying the children had met the early years goal for getting themselves changed, but it was taking a long time for them to get changed.

So now 2 days a week we have to send them in to school wearing it, and they then wear it all day!

They are allowed to wear tracksuit bottoms and school jumpers if the weather is a bit chilly as opposed to shorts and t-shirt.

I know I'm being unreasonable to winge on here but I don't have a clue what day it is unless its a Sunday as I work so how on earth am I going to remember this? :o

And it's more washing and ironing!

Get them to race each other getting dressed and undressed - that way that learn to dress themselves and have PE at the same time. Skip the bit in the middle and incorporate a few star jumps and throwing balled up sweaters...

Just looked - dresses with help is 30 - 50 months.

I'd actually be seriously worried about a class which couldn't sort them selves out for PE....if they really are that bad, then let them take off just their socks and shoes and prance around the hall in their clothes.

YABU. PE kits are a stupid idea.

I'm confused as to how it's more washing & ironing... you've less clothes to wash & iron 2 days a week. Confused

Although, I wouldn't be too impressed with them having to wear a sweaty pe kit all day, eurgh!

My year 5 did this for a while when they were doing outdoor learning and PE on the same day. For my secondary school children, they can go to school in PE kit if they have PE first thing, and travel home in it if its last thing.

Sounds a bit lazy to me, although I can see the frustration. Reception and y1 purposely have pe as the last class of the day so they can go home in their kit, which is actually quite useful because I then know if I need to wash it.
I have 2 kids doing pe, games, forest school, swimming, swimming club and forest school club gymnastics and football all requiring different kit on different days and I have reminders on my phone otherwise I wouldn't have a hope in hell of remembering who needs what on which days (and more to the point, what day of the week it actually is at that precise point in time) in fact I'm tempted to have my own name as a screen saver so I can remember that aswell.
