I'm hardly ever Po, but I completely fail to see how this can be even remotely funny. Its stupid, immature, wasteful, and pathetic.

BoneyBackJefferson · 06/04/2013 14:23

practicality
"All those going on about food waste.....how much do you chuck out of your fridge at the end of the week?"

Does the food I waste at the end of the week have an effect on the saftey of those around me?
Does the food that I waste increase someone's workload?
Does the food that I waste increase the price of food in the shops?
Does the food that I waste impinge on the shopkeeper's profit at the end of each day?

TheBigJessie · 06/04/2013 14:36

Not funny.

I understand the feelings around food waste. I suppose a lot of you are vegan in accordance with maximising yields to feed everyone?

Actually... YES.

erowid · 06/04/2013 14:53

It's not funny but there's no point in crying over spilt milk

sorry but someone had to say it

MagratOfStolat · 06/04/2013 15:45

I'm just a bit like "wait... what?" about it all. At least the Harlem Shake fad made a tiny bit of sense...

How is it a "prank"? It's some complete tosser displaying his tosserness for all to see and then drowning TossTube with his sour-milk-smelling tosserdom.

I laughed...a bit. It's done now, let's all move on.

Lindyhopper29 · 06/04/2013 15:49

Had to go on Youtube as I'd never heard of it. What utter nonsense - what's meant to be funny about that.

Wasteful, dangerous and childish but certainly not funny.

maddening · 06/04/2013 15:49

mmmm korean situation - where civilians are starving - not the best comparison op

countrykitten · 06/04/2013 15:52

Probably hilarious if you are 11.

countrykitten · 06/04/2013 15:52

Although I suspect that even my 11 year old self would have thought they were twats too....

MarcelineTheVampireQueen · 06/04/2013 15:55

Now I'm a big fan of the inbetweener type comedy, I have a childish sense of humour. But this ain't funny. It's not funny for the people who genuinely wanted to help. And its not funny for those who have to clean it up. I don't think i would find it funny if it happened in my house.

And the Harlem shake was Shit.

practicality · 06/04/2013 22:08

Firstly I wasn't COMPARING it to the Korean situation in terms of starving civilians but as some utterly silly nonsense that is LIGHT relief in terms of the gravity of that situation. Picking at the bones there maddening..... Hmm

In response to the points you made Boney, have a look through your questions in terms of the frivolous nature that this thread WAS intended to be.... However since you asked....

Yes the food you waste DOES increase someone elses workload. Anyone involved in the disposal, transport of food, growing, storage etc. Also probably yours since you would (I imagine) work to pay for the wasted food......

Yes the food you buy that you then waste does increase the amount people pay for food. Basic economic theory.

HTH.

I will take leave of this thread now as it was supposed to be a bit of a giggle rather than an exploration into world economics and food distribution. GAAAH

never coming back here again as most of you are just moany and crusty

You asked if people found it funny posters said "no" and gave reasons.
The main reason I believe is as Adam Hill says

"Don't be a dick"

If you like this due to its slapstick nature maybe you should watch the happy slapping videos.

HTH

practicality · 06/04/2013 23:14

I don't agree with violence Boney and don't understand why you would think the two were connected.

However you do seem quite illogical so that may explain.

Dick? Naice touch.

OP posts:
BoneyBackJefferson · 06/04/2013 23:51

You stated that you like slapstick
the Marx brothers, Laurel and Hardy etc.

all slapstick.

I suspect that Adam Hill may be to "high brow" for you
HTH.

ShellyBoobs · 07/04/2013 00:04

I just don't get it.

What is supposed to be funny about this?

Innocent people being splattered with milk and then risking having an acciident when they step into the mess to 'assist' the stupid fucker?

Hilarious. Hmm

Do you find vandalism funny too, OP?

ShellyBoobs · 07/04/2013 00:22

never coming back here again as most of you are just moany and crusty

Only to return less than 6 minutes later.

Brilliant. Grin

practicality · 07/04/2013 00:50

Well Shelley at least something makes you Smile.......

I am taking a break from Mumsnet. It used to be a place for a bit of a light hearted giggle and genuine support. Now it is just full of, frankly, nasty individuals.

Boney that is TOO not to. My humour is quite varied actually and doesn't involve any of the people you mentioned. It is also not limited to slapstick but sometimes, some slapstick does tickle my funny bone. You need to give the superior act a bit of a break as you don't have the goods to back it up.

and pull your judgey pants down from up your crack

HTH x

Pedant's corner is over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

HDEE · 07/04/2013 09:53

I had never heard of this so looked googled it and watched some YouTube videos.

Utterly ridiculous, dangerous, wasteful. Anyone who does this or finds it funny is clearly a twat.

tiredemma · 07/04/2013 09:57

load of nonsense.

people go out and do this?

have they nothing better to do?
