I was doing my supermarket shopping today and saw this woman in the ASDA café when I was having my coffee, her son was eating the most massive plate of fish and chips that I have ever seen.
Honestly, does she want him to end up obese or something?!

OP posts:

Our big Morrisons cafe also does huge fish and chips. V popular with the pensioners....

BigHands · 03/04/2013 17:08

This is funny. If Oscar Wilde were alive today, and a woman with too much time on his hands, he'd be writing posts ad funny as this.

skratta · 03/04/2013 17:09

Oh, I'm hungry now....

GlaikitHasHerFizzBack · 03/04/2013 17:09

Sparklingbrook · 03/04/2013 17:10

But was it sustainable fish and organic chips, will no one think of the eels?

I despair.

ClaimedByMe · 03/04/2013 17:24

Oh fek I was going to make fish off the van and chips for the dc tea tomorrow is that now not allowed despite folks eating it for millions of years?

MsPepperminCreams · 03/04/2013 17:25

What was the mum eating? If it was just a coffee or a sandwich she was probably sharing the plate? That's something I'd do. misses point of thread

KateSMumsnet · 03/04/2013 17:25

For those offended by fish and chips

thornrose · 03/04/2013 17:28

Was the mum using a wooden stirrer for her coffee?

MrsHoarder · 03/04/2013 17:29

Not offended by F&C. But asparagus would go well with my healthy salmon dinner. If we had some sob

somewheresomehow · 03/04/2013 17:31
Biscuit saw kids eating gregs sausage rolls and my dd had vanilla coke at the mall today what will become of them Hmm
Sparklingbrook · 03/04/2013 17:32

That's what I was having KateSMN. Wink

This is for anyone offended by the thread.

KateSMumsnet · 03/04/2013 17:34

"The plate of fish and chips was HOW BIG?"

BeribbonedGibbon · 03/04/2013 17:34

Grin thornrose

Sparklingbrook · 03/04/2013 17:37

somewhere that vanilla coke is really horrible. Grin

ClaraOswald · 03/04/2013 17:39

I now have a huge plate of freshly cooked fish and chips for my evening meal.

I am offended that I walk in and I am served immediately and the fish is battered , fresh, in front of me.

Sparklingbrook · 03/04/2013 17:40

Clara how fab. I want some myself after all this. Grin

thornrose · 03/04/2013 17:49

My mum cooked home-made cod and chips today. She wrapped them in newspaper and brought some round for dd earlier.
She didn't bring me any as she didn't think I'd want any Sad
I really want them now, but they have to be from Hadleys in Whitby!

BurningBridges · 03/04/2013 17:58

Wringing my hands here. I don't know what to do now. You see I too went out earlier and nothing happened, I was not offended, no one looked at me. BUT the kids ate a chocolate dessert in front of loads of people whilst I sat nearby and now we all want fish and chips. And I'm fat. Which thread should I be on?

Sparklingbrook · 03/04/2013 18:00

Stop worrying about threads and get down to the chip shop Burning. Wink

YouTheCat · 03/04/2013 18:01

You lot are making me hungry. I suppose I should cook something.

mummytowillow · 03/04/2013 18:06

I'd do a victory dance round the shop if my DD (5) ate fish, she's a nightmare to feed!

Can't see the problem really its not poison Wink

magimedi · 03/04/2013 18:06
