The old I'm pregnant April Fools day joke.

I just don't find it funny or think it's creative.

Trinity, how do you know there wasn't someone trying/unable to have kids at work??? It is not a funny thing to joke about. We can't have kids of our own. Only few close friends know this. My work colleagues don't.

I think it's very unfunny.

OhDearieDearieMe · 29/03/2013 21:05

I would judge anyone who thought this hilarious, and not in a good way.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/03/2013 21:08

I can think of a million and one funny April fools jokes. That isnt one of them.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 29/03/2013 21:16

I have never in the world heard of anyone doing this !

MsVestibule · 29/03/2013 21:16

The more time I spend on MN, the more out of touch I realise I am! I have never, ever heard of this, but anybody who did would definitely get the Hmm look from me. That'd learn 'em.

Floggingmolly · 29/03/2013 21:24

Jokes are meant to be funny, aren't they? Maybe my sense of humour is missing in action, but why is this funny? Do people really roll on the floor laughing when they realise they've been had? Confused

OhDearieDearieMe · 29/03/2013 21:31

MsVestibule - do you think it's us out of touch or just the fact that there is an entire strata of humanity who are still stuck firmly in the stupid tree?

Finola1step · 29/03/2013 21:36

Pretending to be pregnant on April Fools Day for a joke - not funny by any stretch of the imagination. Not a joke on any day of the year really.

Hello NoisyToys. Snap - we also got married on April Fools Day. And still get a few odd looks when I tell people.

This time 10 years ago I was praying I wouldn't go into labour around now. Went into labour on 31st March, all the bloody midwives kept joking about my April Fools baby. She was born at 3am on 2nd April in the end. Grin

A friend of mine did this on April Fools Day by announcing it on facebook. It was known she didn't ever want children. I never find things like this funny (although it could be because I'm desperate to be a mum one day but know it may not happen for me so am a little over sensitive).

Anyway, about 6 weeks later she found out she was actually pregnant. Her joke didn't seem so funny then ...

My DD 1 was born on April 1st 3 years ago, no one thought I was playing a joke as I'd been in labour for days! YANBU to find a 'joke' pregnancy annoying.

I forsee a load of posters on various threads saying "This must be an April Fool because no-one could be as self-absorbed/pfb/entitled as you in real life" on april 1st. It will make a brief change from YABU [buwink]
