Lighthouse - yes, she cross posted in Chat for some reason.

Its not late in the day at all lighthouse, you can still register so I have as much or little chance as anyone else who has been thinking about this for years and didn't get tickets in the last sale!

What sort of time scale do you think one needs to think about it? Its already April! How much thought and preparation would it need?!

I have to admit the weather puts me off greatly. in my twenties I would not have minded mud wallowing but with a baby, in a tent, ....

I am thinking about camper vans too, that would be ideal really.

The preparation is huge! It's proper hardcore camping. There's a load of stuff to take and, miles to walk with it. In all weathers. It costs a bomb too unless you already have the gear

There's no chance of getting a camper van at this late stage unless someone can lend you one

Been there and done that, but it was 30 years ago.
I spent the almost whole weekend in the children's area.
Went to the main arena to watch a band one night with my child, but too many drunk people tripping over the pushchair.
I know other people who have been in recent years:
Generally too much mud. Mud in tents, mud everywhere. Bedding wet through with mud.

It's not good when if you or your child fall face first flat into the very wet mud and they will.
There is a limit to how mant changes of clothes you can take for them.
Once they have muddy water in their wellies they will have cold wet feet all weekend
I think once you are in you can't decide to go home early - or has that changed now?

But if you go I hope you have a wonderful time.

Oh, and don't forget the queues to get in. Since they've extended it but not opened anymore gates its a nightmare. Two years ago we stood in a queue for three hours with all out gear in torrential rain. Once we got through we walked for another two hours. If you take the wrong turning and end up at the gate opposite the family field this is what you will have to look forward to.

Unless you have been before you can't begin to imagine how big it is. And, it's not some hippy peace n love festival where everyone wants to be your friend. It's loud and Leary. Like been in Magaluf in some parts. I've seen plenty of fights and young kids selling drugs. Not forgetting the robberies. The price of the tickets has not put people off. If anything, there's twice as many people as there used to be.

Get a babysitter. That's my advice.

I think, that if you didn't do Glasto aged 20 wearing hotpants and Hunters, then you have missed the boat, quite frankly. The thirty-somethings with their miserable kids in tow look very sad indeed.

Larmer Tree last year was nice.

Have found a legitimate way to go to Glastonbury this year without having registered for tickets but not telling [buwink]

Op-Im curious as to why you started 2 threads about this. Plus why are you only now deciding you want to go? Everyone knows that you have to book months in advance. You have been warned repeatedly that the chances of you getting tickets now is miniscule yet you keep banging on about it being a "life moment" Were you indulging in a bit of waccy when you started this thread by any chance?
