A friend of mine rang last night to ask if I could drive her and the dc to a family party about 5 miles away. Her dh had gone out in the car to meet a friend and was supposed to ensure that he was back in time to be able to take them (he wasnt actually going to the family gathering himself as he had to work later in the evening). Anyway, he apparantly lost track of time so my friend rang me to see if I could take them.

When I arrived she told me she had had a huge row with him on the phone and wasnt happy that she had had to ask me for a lift due to him forgetting to come home on time.

But, when she was getting out of the car, she told me that she would make sure that her dh knew that he owed me a favour for this. She didnt thank me and gave me the impression that I wasnt actually doing her a favour, I was doing him a favour.

I think she should have thanked me for helping her out, even if it was due to her husband being unreliable.

I think maybe she was still in a bad mood about the row with her DH, and on reflection she probably will realise that you did her a kindness. I would put it down to her being wound up with her DH.

She should have thanked you but by the sounds of it she was far too angry with her DH to be thinking properly

YANBU to think she was rude not to thank you but it sounds like she was distracted by the row with her DH

It'd be the last lift she got from me.

Why couldn't she get a taxi?

She should have thanked you, being angry with her dh doesn't justify rudeness and ingratitude toward you.
