To think people shouldn't assume all SAHM have a choice to be a SAHM

Just that really. Getting really annoyed with justifying the reason I am a SAHM to everyone even my family!

I have a disabled child who is in and out of hospital at the drop of a hat. And when we in hospital we can be in for a week, a day etc. What employer would want an employee like me?

You don't have to justify being an SAHP. Problem solved.

YADNBU, I work part time now but for many years have not been able to work because my children's needs were too great (my eldest two have mental, emotional, behavioural and developmental issues). They couldn't be left with any babysitter or cgildminder not were after school clubs a good idea. Much more importantly, frequent meetings with school as well as urgent requests to come in now from school, and meetings social services, therapy providers and other professsionals made working practically impossible. It was definitely not a choice and I would have preferred to be in work for quite a lot of that time.

Emotionally, I find work fulfilling and also an important escape from just thinking about the children all the time. I don't mean that in a bad way as I'm sure you know, but the mental respite provided by work and being able to focus on something else entirely is very good at stopping me feeling overwhelmed at times. Finances are also a huge struggle without work

Your family's situation is nothing to do with him.

You're a carer, not a SAHP, just say that next time

That and I hope you are claiming appropriate benefits!
