To think that 100 Euro's is a bit steep for a crappy meal in Disneyland Paris just to meet Cinderella with my 4 year old?

We are off to Disneyland this weekend and my youngest daughter is a big fan of Disney princesses, have done some research and looks like the only way to meet them is to have a 3 course meal in one of the restaurants which looking at reviews on Trip Advisor food sounds dreadful! There are also 7 of us in the family so we will have to split for the day as could never afford 65e for adults and 35e for kids with that many of us!!

Just wondered if anyone has managed to meet one of the princesses in any other way for a autograph and photo, or do I have to pay this amount to be sure my little one gets her wish? I know it sounds tight but we have had to go all out to pay for this trip in the first place!

Any advice most welcome :-)

I did it when dd was almost 4. She is now almost 7, and still talks about it. We got a table by the fireplace so that we could watch the princesses and princes dancing, and they got dd up to dance with them. Food was ok, included wine. I enjoyed it tbh; the look on her face was worth every penny.

If you go to the States, meeting princesses is easy- just join the queue see them, chat, get an autograph, photo...onto the next one.

Maybe it is cheaper to just head to America!!!

I find the meals may be crap but it's the characters you are paying to see. My children still talk about our holiday to florida and meeting the characters.

We're going again this summer to Florida as it's cheaper to be quite honest. A trip to Paris for 3 days cost £2000, Florida for 2 weeks including car hire is under £4000.

Are you going to the Paris one?

When we went, there were a few "tableaux" in different areas - info on the guide you get on entry. One of them was a prince/princesss one (Sleeping Beauty?) - free! You also see lots in the parade - we saw the evening one, but maybe there is one in the afternoon too?

Oh and there were Disney characters wandering about and having photo's with children all over the place.

my ds's had opportunities for pics with lots of characters (not the princesses though!) by just wandering around. Mickey was in the New York Hotel Lobby - apparently that's one of his spots.
Cinderella gave a teasing Wink smile and a wave to ds1 from the parade. He had been trying his best to ignore it all (picture a sulky beanie clad teen looking bored). Made me chuckle. Grin

Everything is expensive in Disney but it was magical for us, we had a fab time. Met Cinderella and rapunzel in front of Peter Pan ride but had to be quite firm about our place, a group of Italians did not understand that everyone was waiting.... We only waited 15 mins though. In the main Disneyland hotel over the park there is a fab buffet restaurant called innovations which have the characters mickey, Minnie, Pluto, chip n dale, eeyore and goofy coming round whilst you eat over looking the castle. I would recommend this over cafe mickey any day! Much nicer food and v relaxed! Have a great time!

Ps- our friends did the princess lunch and loved it- we cancelled it on our second day because the kids had met Cinderella and rapunzel on the first day.

My tip would be to stand your child at the front for the parade in an unusual costume. DD wore her Alice in Wonderland dress and the mad hatter, queen of hearts and playing cards all spotted her and came up to her and chatted during the parade. Then Wendy called out "hello Alice" from the Peter Pan float and then Aurora came up to her for a chat. She was delighted to have so much attention. We didn't go to Auberge de Cendrillon but we did spend 2 hours queuing at the Princess Pavilion to see Cinderella (on a quiet day) - at least DD thought it was worth the wait. We stayed at the Disneyland hotel so saw lots of characters at breakfast and in the evening. Although initially sceptical, have to say I loved it.
