To feel like doing virtually nothing

While dd2 sleeps in the afternoon. I feel I've got a hundred things I'd like to achieve and yet I find that after a couple of little jobs I just want to sit and stare into space or look at mumsnet. That's okay though isn't it? Dd2 is 20 months and wakes twice or three times a night and my other two dc are early risers (geberalky by six) and dh is at work seven til six. All fine, not bothered but okay to feel a bit lacking zest by lunchtime? Otherwise I'll be googling depression!

Do whatever you like, you are an adult and therefore you get to decide what to do :)

LimboLil · 20/03/2013 13:13

Staring into space massively under-rated. It's called having a rest. It's allowed.

I am on duty from 6am (sometimes earlier) to after 8pm. Also, if she is awake overnight, I'm there. During her nap I have been known to sleep, MN, drink tea, stare into space... I'm a better afternoon mother as a result.

The word 'Siesta' was invented for those times when you feel a bit 'meh'... don't feel guilty about it!

Molehillmountain · 20/03/2013 13:19

A siesta! How exotic! Although rest sounds lovely too!

You mean we're not supposed to stop all day?! Shock

Seriously, not doing any thing for an hour is much under rated. I love sitting at the kitchen table and having a cuppa and a good day dream Blush. Just don't tell dh Wink

YANBU. DS aged 8 woke at 4am today, vomiting. I am dead tired and have PMT. As a result, we are both still in our pyjamas and I have yet to clean the pukey linen. Oh joy.

Minshu · 20/03/2013 13:49

What? You mean I should have asked permission before parking my lazy arse on the sofa with DD? Wink

Molehillmountain · 20/03/2013 13:54

Yes-need a mumsnet permission note! Grin
