AIBU?

To be secretly pleased I had a post deleted?

Not going to say what as that would get me into trouble. I didn't actually think what I said was bad but I don't mind it has been deleted.

I've never had a post deleted before, I feel like a fully fledged member now :)

Is it wrong to be not so secretly pleased :o

I had a post deleted under another name too - I didn't realise it was a badge of honour. blows fingernails
I was being flippant, I was at the time waiting for a scan and I knew I was awaiting bad news!
It was a one liner I delivered which looking back probably was a bit offhand, but it wasn't hideous either! Not sure if any others have gone.
I wonder what the number is...though I'm not sure I'm a serial upsetter.

I've been deleted a few times.

Recently I told a mean spirited poster that I hoped she would step in dog shit later that day.

That got me removed! Grin

Only one post? Pah! I had a whole thread deleted once, under a different name.

I too don't understand the log out comment??

I'm reasonably new here, but secretly rather like the idea of having a deletion.
What do you have to do, smoke behind the bike shed?

I remember a thread once where a poster was ranting at a couple of other posters about how they were rude and aggressive and no wonder some of their posts had been deleted and she personally was a very fair poster who had never ever had a post deleted, nope she had a very proud record of perfectly reasonable posts - seemingly unaware that several of her posts up thread had been red buttoned by MNHQ. The classic line:

Oh fuck off

usually works Or:

You are just vile!

also works (personal attacks)

Or

Are you a troll? or I do not believe a word of this OP. (troll hunting)

My worst/best was saying all abusive men should be taken to an island and blown up, this may have been okay as it's an opinion, but I typed it on an abusive mans thread.

Not that I would recommend it of course. Like is said, I have been very good since January.

I've had a few posts deleted but I never, ever remember what I said.
I don't think I've ever been personally offensive though that seems to vary in the eyes of other posters and MNHQ.

Sometimes if you've had a post deleted it can simply be because you answered a post that was offensive and had been deleted.

Thanks, TooYappy. Of course MNHQ can't tell what you're thinking, can they Hmm?
On a similar subject, how do some people manage to spot trolls so easily?

Was the post you had deleted on the SIL and the book thread? If so then sorry, no kudos there. Every second post on that thread seems to have been deleted on the first few pages. Talk about a madhouse!

So... If someone called me a 'poohead' (I've been called alot worse in my time) and the poster's comment got deleted, and I insisted that I wasn't in the slightest bit offended by being called that, could I assert a right to have the post 'undeleted' then? And if not, why not?
