Antibacterial dishwashing liquid quite a strong mix, scrub, blot, scrub blot, then baking soda. Let dry, hoover, do that a few more times, it will fade.

Bicarb, then vacuum.

jendot · 18/03/2013 21:01

Antibacterial surface spray... Lots and lots of!

INeedThatForkOff · 18/03/2013 21:02

Ps - how have you gone 9 years without knowing this? Confused

bluebump · 18/03/2013 21:03

I second bicarb. Make sure the floor is a bit damp, I find that works better then chuck a load on and leave for a bit before giving it a vacuum.

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 18/03/2013 21:03

Bicarb, leave as long as you can then vacuum off.

Rosa · 18/03/2013 21:03

Agree bicarb bicarb bicarb..bloody fantastic stuff..

Lavender Dettol.
Chuck a load of it in a bucket with some water and scrub with that.

HazeltheMcWitch · 18/03/2013 21:05

I think (for bodily fluidy things), wash with a solution of biological laundry powder/liquid.
Then when you've blotted a lot, bicarb. Leave, then vacuum up. Repeat bicarb stage if needed.

ginmakesitallok · 18/03/2013 21:05

another vote for bicarb - laods on, leave overnight and then vacuum

nenevomito · 18/03/2013 21:07

Was going to say Bicarb leave it and then vacuum. I also find milton fluid diluted is great for clearing the smell as well.

TattyDevine · 18/03/2013 21:12

Careful of bleachy action with Milton (or potential depending on surface)

But basically you want to kill the live bacteria, and then any smell not caused by that. Vomit is acidic, and Bicarb is alkaline, apart from its anti stink properties, so you can't go wrong.

MousyMouse · 18/03/2013 21:17

bio washing powder.
use like shake and vac.
or the pet odour stuff from the pet aisle.

CatsRule · 18/03/2013 22:00

I agree with soap powder and bicarb but I also find some baby wipes are good too to lift a bit of smell. I usually wash then go over it with a wipe...for some reason it helps.

just as well since ds loved to vomit everywhere...tonight ot was all over his Daddy Grin

Big fan of bicarb here but..............recently read on here about Bio washing powder to remove the smell of shit and it was amazing when our brand new rescue dog crapped himself in excitement on his first night! Stain and smell - gone with one application!
