To love Ant & Dec and think they are my friends?

Is there anyone out there who doesn't love Ant and Dec? They're brilliant, yet seemingly still quite normal, I can quite imagine having a few beers with them down the pub and know we'd get on just smashing if the situation ever arose. I nearly wet myself laughing at the Aled Jones sketch on Saturday Night Takeaway tonight, I love how they always seem on the edge of losing it and dissolving into giggles.

PS I know they aren't really my friends, but sometimes I do daydream that they are Grin

I grew up in Newcastle and their banter makes me homesick - it's just how Geordie mates talk to each other.

LoganMummy · 16/03/2013 21:29

I have loved them since I was 12! Watched them in Byker Grove, have all their albums and went to see them five times in concert!

They seem such normal guys, dont do typical celebrity things and agree that having grown up with them makes it seem almost like you know them.

It's my lifelong ambition to meet them, simply to say hello!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 16/03/2013 21:29

I think my dh wishes they were his besties!

Icelollycraving · 16/03/2013 21:38

I love them! I'm a celeb is only watchable because of them entertaining each other (& us).
I only remember which one is which by thinking of Ant as an actual ant with that forehead. Read he & his wife are ttc & having a little difficulty. Mrs Ant may be amongst us!

mrsjay · 16/03/2013 21:40

I agree IM a celeb would be rubbish if they were not ribbing the contestants can you iamgine if it was vernon kay presenting it

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 16/03/2013 21:46

mrsjay · 16/03/2013 21:48

most how many albums did they make ? i wasn't into their music I an remember dec with the curtain hair do though Grin I used to watch SMTV live with dd she would wander off and id sit there laughing my head off Grin

WorraLiberty · 16/03/2013 21:50

I think they're probably the best all round entertainers on TV Grin

It's easy to tell them apart if you use my mad 'reasoning'.

Dec is the smaller one, therefore he's nearer to the ground.

Decking is laid on the ground.

There see? Told you it's simple Grin

Schooldidi · 16/03/2013 21:50

Would it make any of you jealous if I told you I was mates with Ant when we were at school? Possibly not really mates, but I did hang around with him a few times cos he lived near my proper mate.

I also knew Dec's brother for quite a while but never met Dec.

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 16/03/2013 21:52

ooh... just googled... they had 3 albums. i though it was 4 or 5. i have all 3 Grin

Xmasbaby11 · 16/03/2013 21:53

HolidayArmadillo · 16/03/2013 21:54

Oh I've just remembered my Dad used to be in charge of security at the Mitre which is where Byker Grove was filmed (not in byker) so I used to hang around there quite a bit. Post PJ and Duncan though.

Who/what are Ant and Deck? Wooden floor treatment? Anti-termite spray?

RussiansOnTheSpree · 16/03/2013 22:00

They have 'badged' an online bingo game. I think they're a disgrace.

CadleCrap · 16/03/2013 22:01

IILWDAvidtennant Me too! (Never admitted that before) - DH dispairs of ny choice in music and if he found that out he'd probably leave Grin

alwaysworking · 16/03/2013 22:10

Dec's parents ran the Tyneside Irish Centre so I'm quite sure he's been dancing before. I imagine it's been knocked down now (along with most of newcastle that i remember).

HolidayArmadillo · 16/03/2013 22:12

No I think it is still there. Up towards St James way?

ScarletLady02 · 16/03/2013 22:29

I've always quite liked them. SMTV was hangover telly for me in the morning when it was on. Plus I watched Byker Grove for years

FRASER....FRASER....SPUGGY'S ON FIRE!!

Hated their songs though.

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 16/03/2013 22:36

cadlecrap mine too... i have to hide my cd's and ban him from my ipod otherwise he'd just walk out the door and divorce me. i have brilliantly shocking taste Grin

alwaysworking · 18/03/2013 21:40

holiday - yes, on the corner behind the bus station at gallowgate. i imagined it'd gone as when i drove down gallowgate a couple of years ago i literally didn't know where i was although i was born and bred in fenham!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/03/2013 21:55

There was a SNTA thing at Lakeside a couple of weeks back (to select contestants for the show)

If AntandDec had been there my DD would have abseiled from the top floor into the arena and danced Ganganhm Stylee (or whatever it's called) Blush

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/03/2013 21:58

Ah but Worra

Ants are closer to the ground than decking.................Confused
