My DC has been unwell over the past four days. My MIL had to come over to our house on Wednesday so was aware that my DC was unwell. When MIL went to leave she was quite aware that my DC had got worse since she first stepped into the house.

As a GM don't you think she could of phoned or texted to see how my DC was? I find it amazing that I've received no communication from her. She only sees my DC when it suits her, which I suppose is fair enough.

I feel so sorry for my DC, as my MIL never seems to think of her. She will only buy her Birthday and Christmas presents, never anything in between. I know she doesn't have to buy gifts but a little something now and again would be nice.

Now taking deep breaths Smile as rant over.

I would hate my parents to spoil DD and buy her sweets and so on o/s birthday and Christmas. Horses for courses, innit?

YANBU it amazes me how my PIL leave our house and then DS doesn't enter their heads until the next visit, no matter what has been going on in his life.

I really cannot understand how you could leave a house with a very sick child in and not text after his bedtime or in the morning to see if he has gotten any better...I would do it for any child I'd seen in that state let alone my GC?!

YABU abt presents tho, unless they regularly treat one set of GC and not the other.

I'm also of the be careful what you wish for brigade Grin
My MIL is a right pain in the arse if the kids are unwell. DC1 has just had tonsillitis, when she said ' well you MUST ensure he gets plenty of rest!' my DH responded with 'Hopo, get DC1 inside now and stop him from running round the block in his pants! Cheers mum, hadn't thought of that as I've only been a dad for 12 years'
