The word sorry. It's bandied about far too often and with very little meaning when used. So Aibu to hate the word?

Sorry but YABU

MisselthwaiteManor · 12/03/2013 12:17

YABU. But YANBU to hate when people say it without meaning.

MomaP · 12/03/2013 12:19

YANBU.

As someone that has had a pathetic excuse for parents my whole life, who have continously done things to upset me and let me down, then think a simple 'sorry' was going to change it, I'm not a fan.

There has been so many occasions I've just sat there thinking - is that it? ANOTHER apology. It just becomes a frequently used word in the end that warrants people to get away with acting like a shit.

I'm not referring to all cases of course, but I definitely get what you're saying.

HeadfirstForHalos · 12/03/2013 12:27

YANBU. I do encourage my dc to say sorry, more I have also taught them the importance of showing you are sorry through your actions.

Sorry just as a word is meanlingless.

How about soz? Grin

Sorry means you are not going to do it again.

Thats the motto in our house. If you say sorry and do it again the apology is meaningless the second time.

I wonder if anyone is ever truely sorry though.

To add to my comment, I agree with actions speak louder than words.

It really is as simple as that.
